What;s The Bottom Line With American Beauty?

First Impressions Before Seeing This Film?
This was a film I always wanted to watch when it was on Sky, so I decided to watch it on SkyGo and see what all the fuss was about. At this point, I knew Kevin Spacey was in A Bug's Life and The Usual Suspects but his career has heightened so much since this film. He runs a theatre, he does House of Cards which is a smash hit and he is in another film called Casino Jack which I really enjoyed. Annette Bening I only know from Mars Attack at this point and Thora Birch I didn't see her in anything else till I saw the Hole. But, my first impressions this should be an interesting film because I didn't look into the story at all.

After I Watched The Film?

Well, IMDB users finally found I film I agree with the ratings! 8.5 and I can see why. The acting is flawless Kevin Spacey's character really sees what he thinks and what he believes all the way through the film. We see what problems could happen and in it self who he is and what he deals with. I loved the psychological reasoning behind his character and some others when we watch the film we find out a lot of twists and turns within the film.

The classic scene that people think of our the rose pettles and I never knew why, till I saw that scene and that scene is so creative and if you think about it during the time this film was made quite risky and contemporary of how they are portraying what he feels and what he wants.

Visually stunning, acting brilliant and the directing is flawless.

Does Kevin Spacey Make This Film?

I REALLY WANNA SAY NO......But, DAMN IT Kevin! You made this film. You CAN'T pick anyone else to pick his character/role for this film. HE made this film in my opinion, his acting, facial reactions, emotions we saw it all. We saw everything through him and understood how he felt instantly. His acting has really inspired others and his directing and writing is brilliant as well and his birthday was the 26th July he is 55, and all I can see is he can keep going! He won't stop! 

So, What's The Bottom Line? 

Bottom Line? Do I need to say MORE? Honestly, the actors not just Kevin Spacey but the other cast members really make this film something to watch and worth watching.

Tips If Watching This Film? 

My main tip, which some people won't agree with;

1. Don't judge ANY of the characters until the film has stopped, take a breath and reflect and then say your opinions....

My Rankings

As I said before, IMDB rated this film a good solid 8.5 BUT since am a Kevin Spacey guy and I love all his works! Still need to see House of Cards! But, I have to say it's brill so I give it a 10 out of 10. No questions why, the film answers that for me
