What's The Bottom Line special Funky Facts Issue #2

Megi Sans Regular

Introduction

Hello everybody and welcome to yet another Funky Facts! This feature is going really well in That's The Bottom Line so we thought of doing another issue! This one is looking at bits of everything, but we thought we go into some facts that you wouldn't know about an author.....R.L Stine the creator of Goosebumps, but this blog looks at very unusual things like the McGangBang.....yes this is a real burger that existed. To who's related to George Clooney? And, what's so special about Natalie Portman? All this and MORE in Funky Facts!

Next Time.....Becareful who you unfriend on Facebook!

At least, 5 people have reportedly been murdered for unfriending someone on Facebook. I mean, I would understand this because I have seen it in the papers but I never knew it to be like this! Maybe, should give someone a heads up when unfriending them! Could get that unfriend person quite paranoid and deranged if it was a close friend, I can see that. But, this is one of the weirdest things I've read....next time? Make sure, that the person you unfriend isn't a murderer!

Ever wondered those open/close buttons in Elevators?

Most door open/close buttons are actually placebos that do nothing at all when pressed - just there to give us a sense of control. I was shocked by this! I generally thought they work? But, it's actually most doors don't have this button to work. It lights up, and if you wondered why they won't close right away this is why. That button you're pressing, and pressing and pressing for the elevator to shut and is still not shut.....Yeah, it's just there for display and torment for yourselves. It doesn't work, it's only there to get a sense of control and harmony when in a squashed elevator.

What word would you say if you had a fear of giving birth to a monster?!?!?

Teratophobia......Teratophobia is the actual fear of giving birth to a monster, I don't know the key definition of a monster. But, basically if you have fear of popping out a Yoda, ET, Sulley from Monsters Inc or even a Jabba The Hutt, but personally if I had Jabba The Hut popping out I would be in complete fear! But, having a Sulley I would just ask questions of how this is possible? It could be paranoid affects of wondering what the child would look like. But, this is a general thing....Teratophobia is fearing you're child is a monster....Bit harsh really. But, it's there.

McDonalds Did WHAT!

McDonald's has a secret sandwich named the McGangBang - it's a McChicken Sandwich in the middle of a double cheeseburger......Can we just.....Re-wind that.....McDonald's has a sandwich named the McGangBang....isn't that REALLY offensive! Don't get me wrong I love McChicken Sandwich and a double cheeseburger but whoever made the name for this burger should be fired. Imagine, a child ordering this burger! It's completely inappropriate!

Ever wondered about that hearing or buzzing in you're ear?

It's actually called Tinnitus, Tinnitus is a term that describes any sound that a person can hear that comes from inside the body rather than from an outside source. So literally, listen to your self is literally....well literal!.

Who won in a fight between Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee?

Jackie Chan once picked a fight with Bruce Lee and lost. But, in the act of performing his own stunts. Jackie Chan has broken his nose three times, his ankle once, most of the fingers in his hand, both cheekbones and his skull. Not being funny thou, look at Jackie Chan then look at Bruce Lee....bit clear who would win the fight really.

What does Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton have in common?

Dolly Parton is Miley Cyrus' godmother. I remember Dolly Parton in a really old Hannah Montana episode did some research behind that and Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton are some what related. Dolly Parton is the godmother of Miley Cyrus. Truly is a fame and fortune family! Got Billy Ray Cyrus as Miley's dad and now Dolly Parton is the Godmother of Miley Cyrus. This was wayyyy before, Miley Cyrus decided to be a wrecking ball! But, I believe Dolly Parton respects the wishes of the star.

What makes Natalie Portman talented?

Well, she is trained in ballet, jazz, and tap dancing. She also speaks fluent Hebrew and conversational French, German, Japanese and Spanish. But, where was she discovered? Funny enough, in a pizza parlour when she was only 11 years old. Considering she isn't actually an old actor, she has done so much already in her young life. She knows 5 languages and knows an arrange of dance techniques. Natalie Portman should be the one to watch when you go to see a film.

Who's George Clooney related too?

Well, you know good old Abraham Lincoln it's him! I mean.....let's compare the tow people. I can see the jaw line, that smile if we see Abraham Lincoln smile! But, I can't picture them in my head. Am sorry, I see Abraham Lincoln as one of the most iconic historical figure in history and I see George Clooney as a very bad Batman fighting Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy. Nothing more really, when I heard about this fact I was a little blown away.

You can rent celebrities?

Just like renting a car or a house, you can rent celebrities online like Miley Cyrus, Jim Carrey and Leonardo DiCaprio to come to your party or event. I didn't know this, there is a site which I can't find but if you contact the agents I would believe you can rent out that celebrity for you're party or event. So, it's like renting a car or house but I wouldn't even imagine the insurance of the celebrity!

Samuel L Jackson was perfect for Nick Fury in The Avengers but why?

Funny enough, Marvel based the comic book character after Samuel L. Jackson. I can see why Stan Lee created Nick Fury, because the characteristics and the actual person of Nick Fury is very much comfortable with Samuel L. Jackson. You can see this, in the Avengers, Agents of Shield. Samuel L. Jackson doesn't seem to change much, and his person as Nick Fury is brilliant. But, I never knew that Stan Lee created Nick Fury from watching Samuel L Jackson's acting.

How much would it take to recreate The Lego Movie?

Exactly 15,080,330 total bricks and 183 different minifigs.....Best go to Lego Land then to save some money at least then. To be fair thou, I knew they had to use a LOT of Lego brick because it's a Lego movie! But, I never imagined it would be that many, I was surprise that it was only 183 minifigs I would of thought it be much much more than that.

Some facts about R.L.Stine the writer and creator of Goosebumps

  1. The Girl Who Cried Monster was the only book that had to be revised because of it's scariness. This was because Stine had the librarian eat a student in the initial draft. He replaced a child with live turtles. Also, green blood was always used in place of red on the covers.....STILL CREEPY!
  2. R.L.Stine will always dislike his first Goosebumps book. He says there weren't enough funny moments to offset the scary.
  3. R.L.Stine's biggest influence is Ray Bradbury. He was once too scared to approach the author, but introduced himself after some encouragement form his wife. Stine says that he called Bradbury his hero and his reply was "you are a hero to many". A very sweet moment for R.L.Stine.
  4. R.L.Stine's son has NEVER read one of his books.....He did base a Fear Street character off of him in Goodnight Kiss. To get back at him, he also had the character get lethally bit at the end....Thanks Dad I think the son was thinking, but since he never reads his books he would never know! Cheeky Stine!
  5. "Say Cheese and Die!" was the only book where the cover image didn't initially correspond to the context. Sine was forced to insert a skeleton BBQ dream sequence. Also, did you know that Stine will not write a book, unless he has created the title first?!?! Crazy!
  6. None of Stine's 'Goosebumps' characters are based on people he knows personally. Though, he did refer to a school directory for name ideas.
  7. "Haunted Mask" and "Brain Juice" are Stine's two favourite Goosebumps books. He said they were "fun" to write. To be fair, I would have fun if a masked got stuck to my face!
  8. They are working on a Fear Street film! Goosebumps the actual film premiers next year, with Jack Black playing Stine. Fear not, though because Fear Street is being "worked on".
  9. The iconic character Slappy was based on the movie "Dead of Night." It's easy to assume Child's Play, but it's the creepy ventriloquism of this 40s Horror Film that got to Stine. Pinnochio also horrified Stine as a child!
  10. Talking about Slappy! Sine loves writing insults. Which is why Slappy is one of his favourite characters. He'll be in a lot of this move Goosebumps next year, as the suppose main villain.

What's The Bottom Line?
