What's The Bottom Line Special Super Saturday presents Superman vs. The Elite

Introduction

This Super Saturday, I thought I do the film blog on a great 12 rated DC Hero film called 'Superman vs. The Elite. Just because, it has a 12 rated and people think DC Heroes cartoons are just for kids, well yes and no. As we grow up, we like more thrilling and more gruesome cartoons. So, Marvel and DC Heroes do actual cartoon films to 15 and maybe 18 I haven't seen an 18 one yet. But, I would highly watch the above 12 rated Marvel and DC Heroes films because they are more suitable for over 12 years old. Plus, Superman vs. The Elite is really a great different take on the whole Superman universe.

First Impressions Before Seeing The Film?

Can I just say Pauley Perrette who is Abbey in NCIS is in the film! I didn't know this so I am just like "eeek! I didn't know that!" But, my first impressions I didn't know who the Elite was. I am going to be honest because you're reading this. I don't look at the comics I just watch the films and the TV Programmes. So, the advantage some DC Heroes fans have over me is that with the comics they know more villains, superheroes, scenarios etc. But, with watching films and TV shows I general understand what they can and can't do and lets be honest the comics most popular villains will be in films or TV programmes at least.

After I Watched The Film?

This film is truly one to see if you are a DC Hero fan, and here is why. This film, yes we have seen Superman die and come back, we have seen Superman kick the poop out of Lex Luther....BUT, have you actually seen Superman lose to anyone? In the eyes of the public and more importantly have you seen Superman turn a bit psycho before? If you a new DC Hero fan I doubt it, we have seen the latest Superman, Superman Returns, Man of Steel. But, this film really makes you think who is Superman. The Elite is basically in the name it's an Elite force of superheroes or so the public think. But, as we know it's not that simple. The Elite come across to us as villains because if they weren't lets be honest. Why is it Superman vs The Elite. But, the Elite are truly unique. We have just a unique bunch of people in the Elite and my thought was how can Superman take down each single one. Plus, you don't just see Superman vs. The Elite, you actually see quite a few number of villains in the film. i won't say which villains but they were a nice surprise to see in this film.

Will We See A Different Side of Superman?

In small words, "Yes" you will. There is actually a great scene where he turns completely "cuckoo" and you think....This isn't Superman. But, you see it is. Superman for a scene goes completely animalistic and you're childhood hero is completely changed your mind, only for that scene off course. I was going to put on that specific scene but it's actually the last scene we see the Elite and Superman fight. So, personally I think that would ruin it but it's a must see DC Hero film to watch. But, I like it more because we see Superman change and we always wonder what he would be like 'Evil' and this film actually shows us a glimpse of this other Superman that we haven't seen yet.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

You know what, I love my Superheroes and Super Villain movies but this one for me is one of my favourite Superman films. I love Justice League: Doom and Superman: Unbound (which introduce to me Supergirl). But, the bottom line is basically if you're a Superman fan, you love you're unique villains and great battle scenes then this is the film that you MUST see and that's the bottom line.

My Rankings

Am actually quite pleased with the rating of 7.1 from IMDB and I'll tell you why. Animated films from DC Heroes and Marvel either do incredibly well or really bad. So, to see quite a high rating for this film actually makes me happy. My top mark because I just love this film to pieces was an 8, I did feel some scenes could of just been like the saying in Doctor Who "DELETE" but overall it's a great Superman film and actually helped my knowledge on Superman because am really a huge Marvel fan. DC Heroes will always be number 2 in my head, but I do see the greatness with DC Heroes and Marvel. They are both equal but we know Marvel is doing literally like more films then DC Heroes in the next couple of years. But, that's my rating a solid 8 for a solid man of Steel, Superman vs. The Elite....who will win? You'll better find out.
