My 20 Must Travelling Songs
Introduction
You know when your on the road and you're just like.....I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO LISTEN TOO! I am seriously like that! So, here's my top 20 must songs that will be played for those long journeys ahead. Hope you enjoy, I did make them quite different and similar to give you all a great different various types of music.
(1) Trespassing by Adam Lambert
It's catchy, funky and it's quite different for Adam Lambert but when I listened to this in the car, kept me awake but it's interesting when your watching cars past by, since it's about Trespassing I was thinking about the moterway we are trespassing on the road because it's not my road, or your road it's our road. So, someone could say it's trespassing especially when the cops pull up and see ya licensee! It's quite relaxing as well....it's not heavy, it's not screamo it's just quite nice to listen to in the car.
(2) The Big Bang by Katy Tiz
The start of it, immediately catches my ear and I am hooked and it's good when your in a traffic jam. It's quite slow and it's quite smooth as well. THE BIG BIG BANG! It's catchy like Adam Lambert song but it's really relaxing and quite repetitive so you could nod off in the back seat whilst its on. It's actually quite perfect for a car trip because it shows that you can move slowly to the music, it's low so you could sleep in the back and the singer is quite good Katy Tiz, it's quite nice in comparison to other singers that are out there.
(3) Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne
Similar to the Born to Be Wild, but it's more lively I think and it's catchy, it has a story, the singer is good, it was quite popular when it came out and it's quite good at karaoke. But, why listen to it on a car journey? Well, you see it's something everyone knows and you can have a sing song in the car, and it's something to keep you awake. You know when you're bored in the car and you're looking for something to do, this song could start a sing song in the car journey.
(4) Geronimo by Sheppard
(5) Born To Be Wild by Krokus
The song, the lyrics, the tune it's all there for a perfect road trip especially if you got your head out of the window.....only if it's legal thou and it does fall off from a truck! But, overall it's a fantastic, exciting song and personally I think it's forgotten now! You never ever hear it these days unless a rock band plays it in a pub, someone sings it on kareoke so maybe by chance you hear it. Last time I heard it from a film I THINK Wild Hogs is in it. But, I listen to this and look out the window and it just generally feels like an adventure!
(6) American Beauty - Plastic Bag Theme by London Music Works
Something very different....it's perfect when you're just looking and I mean just generally looking. It's great for a peaceful day, the trees in the wind, clouds and seeing people in there cars. It's from a film called 'American Beauty' with a great actor called Kevin Spacey. But, this song is great for car journeys for just discovering what's out there in your trip. It's very soothing and relaxing so you don't have to be really awake or asleep it's great to listen too.(7) When We Stand Together by Nickelback
BOOM, let's pick it up. I love car journeys where your foot is tapping and your letting loose and your hair bashing. This is my favourite song right now for car journeys, interesting face thou I actually nearly cry every time at this song. And, I think it's because I am actually scared of motorways and driving because of so many things. So, listening to When We Stand Together really shows that they are there. Which is nice, but its a great foot tapping, head bashing and blocking noise song. Highly recommend this song.(8) Marry The Night (Glee Cast Version feat. Adam Lambert) by Glee Cast
I don't like watching Glee but I like listening to the songs. I know most of my drama/performing arts/family/friends LOVE Glee but I just can't get into it. But, this song I prefer then Gaga's version. Adam Lambert in the video below is just spot on. Marry The Night is another foot tapping song and if you need to stay awake for any reason like your in a taxi on the way to a job interview, this song will keep you awake....or on a train too just don't hold me to it! It's your body haha.
(9) My Sharona by The Knack
Another catchy song, this is My Sharona by The Knack, it's quite an old song but I love it on car journeys simply because of the repetition. You don't have to think, has a small story and it's something everyone can sing it in the car. It's something that's not really old that you're like "Oh dad" but it's something that you can listen to as a whole family.
(10) This Will Be The Year by Train
I was torn between this song and Drive By, I love Train's lyrics, the tune, the singing I just love Train's music in general. I picked this song, because when you're listening to Train and you're watching something you can paint another picture in you're head from there lyrics which is why, if you haven't listened to there new song I would give it a try.(11) Heaven Knows by The Pretty Reckless
I like this in car journeys, I know it's The Pretty Reckless and you're probably thinking WHY! But, honestly this song when your stuck in traffic makes it go faster, makes you feel better, make you feel more awake and personally I quite like The Pretty Reckless! They are a great band and I would highly recommend this song to anyone who's stuck in traffic because of how easy it is to listen to and how it's quite powerful as well.(12) Waves by Mr. Probz
Everyone and anyone knows this song by now, Waves is just another spot on moment for the car. I listen to it when am going through country side or on the moter way because the "waves after waves" you seee characters and emotion in the movements of trees, cars, wind etc it's really inspiring stuff. And, I just read what I wrote there and am just like "This guy crazy?" nahh just very spiritual!(13) Can't Remember To Forget You By Shakira and Rihanna
This is amazing for those quick journeys on the motorway, it's smooth sailing and Shakira and Rihanna know it. You don't believe me? If you listen to the beat, the volume of the singers make sure it's highish and you'll hear as you drive they drive with you. It's one of my favourite car journey songs and it's a must for me.
(14) Rise by Shaggy
It's quite relaxing and easy to listen to again, but something about this song is just perfect for when your in a traffic jam and then suddenly it's an open road. It's really laid back and if you've just woken up to go on the road, I would highly recommend listening to this song first as you get in the car.
(15) Five Colours in Her Hair by McFly
Picture it, it's an open road and suddenly traffic jam so what MIGHT make it go faster. Just only abit of Five Colours in Her Hair by MCFLY! That might just do it. It's really exciting to listen to and most people in traffic jams get annoyed but it's actually psychological if you listen to music, the traffic goes quicker because your concentrating on the song then the traffic. But, that might be dangerous if your not paying attention.....Ah well!
(16) Brick By Boring Brick by Paramore
I actually really like Paramore old stuff, I am not that keen on the newer stuff. But, Brick by Boring Brick is great for me in car journeys because I can usually fall asleep to it which is a good think. It's not that the song is boring, is just easy to fall asleep to, so if you want a song for me falls asleep Brick by Boring Brick by Paramore. But, in general it's a really hyper song and great singer I would recommend this to any music lover!
(17) Land of Opportunity by A Great Big World
The drums, the guitar and the singing is just great! It feels like your actually on one of those happy coach trips! It's just perfect for those relaxing car journeys that is a must needed if it's a long journey. And, it's like a little foot stepping one and it's more a head shaking left to right continuously, it's really cheerful which is perfect for those early wake up calls to a trip somewhere you never heard of. Plus, it has some silly bits, happy bits and sad bits in the song which is a great mixture to start the day.
(18) Timber by Pitbull, Ke$ha
For the open road, I would highly recommend Timber by Pitbull and Ke$ha just because of how fast pace it is, you wouldn't listen to it in a car jam, I would listen to this in an open road situation simply because of the fast pace, catchy tune, and the fact it's Pitbull and Ke$ha which truly rock this song. And, to fill the full potential of this song, an open road on the motorway on a sunny day.
(19) Rock DJ by Robbie Williams
Going back abit, but this song is quite good for all situations, it's face pace so great for the open motarway, it's got a great tune to keep your sanity in check when your in a traffic jam. And, am not going to lie this song is great for those early wake ups because it's loud, catchy and even if you watch the music video...it's not appealing but when it first came out it caught a lot of eyes.
(20) Counting Stars by One Republic
The main reason I picked this song, I was in a traffic jam when it stared and then when it hits all the instruments we were slowly going on the open road, and when he starts singing we were in the open road. It's catchy, it's quite country I think because of his voice and when you hit full gas on the pettle for the chorus it's truly great. Highly recommend this to anyone that likes One Republic but it's different if you look at there other songs.
(21) Grace Kelly by MIKA
YES, this song is a very must in the car journey. It's quite well known and it's fun, it's funky and everyone can sing to it and it's not a full on foot tap or even a head banging song but it's really easy to listen to, which I think is really important when your on car journeys because you don't want anything that will disturb you, make you uncomfortable or just not what you want.
Bottom Line?
Each song we listen to, links us to a memory, to a feeling or to an emotion. Most of my songs, I listen in the car and think of a past memory or experience that links me to that song. Bottom Line? Music in those car journeys is your best friend, it reminds me, it makes you happy, it makes you sad, it makes you angry but above all it's always there for you. And, that's the bottom line.Want To Follow More Blogs Click Here To Our Facebook Group:
