Constance's Amazing Tattoo Artwork
Introduction
See the girl on you're left, well that's Constance she's a pretty lass with a lot of talent! I met her once out in the town in Ormskirk and we just clicked. She appears to be a genuinely nice and helpful person and she is! Her artwork shows you what kind of woman she really is. And, the fact that as you can see I picked her for Murderous Mondays because her art is a killer! And, with that killer smile she has, surely you will be gasping to have one of her tattoos on you're bodies. So, this blog will be looking mostly at Constance's tattoo artwork and I hope you enjoy the read.
Constance's Artwork
I really love this creation of a very majestic and beautiful creature like the owl, that who who at night and it's latched upon the rib cage and behind that a rose. We can not say that detail here is lacking. There's so much detail, story and emotion in this tattoo then I have ever seen. It mentions that nature can be a heart ache, nature can be there for us in the worst of times. Plus, I love the use of colour sometimes with colour it's a risk I've noticed with my friends, passing people that colour smears and it just looks ugly! Whilst, this image really shows the care and the appreciation that has gone into the first stages of the sketch and to the end result of the ink being eternally imprinted onto you're bodies.
I have to say I love this creation of a woman and a red bird. It shows the whole mysterious character. At first glances you could say 'traveller' but all in all it's not just that. It's a woman that has found the smallest of creatures that can portray the biggest of beauty. The hair into the detail, the accessories this woman has and the actual detail go into the facial features of this woman is truly a master piece to have on you're body. I believe that every tattoo ever has a story, ever tattoo has a meaning and with this tattoo I can see messages, I can see meaning. Which is why one of the reasons I love Constance's artwork is because it takes you on a journey of someone life or someone meaning or something that means to that person alone. Constance's artwork truly is something to stop and truly think about.
I know right away whom this character is to me. Although, it might be someone completely different. The white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland and if it's something completely different I actually congratulate Constance for giving me something unique. We all know that Alice in Wonderland is a magical, fantasy world and to really see the likeness of her work onto someone's body shows the true magic and inspiration that has gone into the work and the image of what truly is magical about a tattoo. I think I like the characters she creates. Like, this rabbit we don't see a cheeky, sassy rabbit like Bugs Bunny! We see a very curious, shy, nervous and above all a individual bunny rabbit which is what I like about Constance's artwork. She develops the characteristics of the tattoo and makes it all in all unique to be seen.
At first glances, I truly see a dark, mysterious and evil woman. She is holding what most of us want and to understand beauty in itself. But, the flowers, the nature surrounding her could be her power. So, that being said I think this character is mother nature. I hope Constance has noticed this but you can see the way in the character through her body or in this tattoo her hands. We see a very soft but firm grip around the lantern and this explodes to us of a very majestic, classy and clearly powerful person. The sense of the jewellery and the way her hair moves with nature shows to me that this is the closest to mother nature. But, I do like the fact it's not coloured because I think the viewers can already see the colour within the tattoo itself. I think Constance's work has been so detailed and so creative that we know what colours are going to go incredibly well in the image and we can already see the end result of the tattoo.
Tic Toc it's a clock. Not just any clock thou, this is truly where we see what tattoos Constance can create for us. We see the snake surrounding the clock, and the typical old century accessories that came with it. Plus, in the middle of the clock my personally opinion of what it is, is a gold coin. Now, my history is okay so am going to guess that Snake is the dangers of the world that we encounter, you know robbers, muggers, murders, teachers, accountants, lawyers etc and then the coin in the middle represents you. You're life. You're life is like an hour glass, time slowly runs out and to me this tattoo speaks so much. The snake slithering around the clock shows me that danger is close or you're life is at an end which is truly remarkable. Constance has already given me a huge amount of story with just one tattoo. People say, tattoos on you're body tell a story and I never understood why but when I saw this tattoo and Constance's creations I always get it now. I get that tattoos can either be a gate way to the persons life or the persons imagination or memory.
I have to say that Constance's creations have really made myself think. This image is of a very classy woman, because we see the red devilish murderous bloody glove, with the green bracelet. But, what's caught my eye is the bird and the tooth in a bottle that it carries. I don't know if it's from a film or if it's from Constance's imagination. But, it speaks volumes. We could say that, this person is a tooth fairy in the modern times or the steam punk era. But, I think. This is my own idea, that the bird is a memory bird, it has the strength of a lion and the features just look magical and hypnotic. The tooth, represents a memory, teeth are with us for as long as we take care of them. But, they have a journey as well with us. So, I think that's what the tattoo means but again....it speaks a huge different stories. We don't know what it is but with the colours, the character, the presence it really makes the viewer take a second look to see what it means.
Am a skull lover I have no shame in that. But, this skull....it captures me. Not physically but catches my eye. I have to say because it's in a very Victorian mirror, I like the fact it's not completely coloured because I would know more about the tattoo with the no colour you have to more guess with what does this image mean. For example, if the skull was dripping blood from it's eye sockets it could mean the pain and suffering the person wearing this tattoo would have been apart of it's life, the pain and suffering. But, this tattoo says to me that it's actually a reflection of yourself when you are dead. You'll be happy.... I know that's weird because you're dead but hear me out. If you were dead, the people around you would be happy simply because you made them happy. They would of remember the good/the bad but hopefully more the good times you had and the representation of the skull in a mirror actually could show that you are not afraid of death.
I picked this tattoo for my final opinion because simply because it's the one that made me think the most. The cut, of the eyes upwards to me makes me think of beauty in the people's eyes. We see a bit of nakedness in the image. BUT, I will say the cutting in half shows the in-completion of what beauty has to be come. But, with the sun or an essence shining in the background we could say that it's fighting for something worth fighting for. Then, we have the leaves surrounding the lower body to show the whole sacrifice of what could be and what could've been. If someone wore this, my only logical conclusion is the fact that they are challenging there own take of what the world wants them to be. And, the fact that first impressions of yourselves can be portrayed as a singularity or a two face person.
So, What's The Bottom Line?
You know what, I think I know Constance a bit more than I originally did. From her artwork I feel she needs to tell her story, I feel as if she has lived a hard, painful and sad life and yet she creates this wondrous and marvellous creations. I notice some of them are Victorian, some of them are mythical. So, I have the idea that Constance herself loves the whole concept of magic and the fact that let's be honest....there's only a hint of the gothic art form here....sarcasm is quite hard through internet. Her tattoos portray this gothic art form which I love because people get scared of gothic art but I see and many others see the beauty and the stories that it can tell. So, the bottom line? Constance's artwork and herself has the detail, and portrait and ideas of her tattoos in herself. And, for me as a visual viewer I have to say that, that's important. If I wanted a tattoo I would go to a tattooist that has that detailed mind set, the creativity and above all showing the fun and pleasure that takes place when creating these creatures of art work and that's the bottom line.
