What's The Bottom Line special Toxic Tuesday presents the TV Show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation

presents

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Next Mutation (1997-1998)

Introduction

I chose this amazing TV Show for Toxic Tuesday but it's them. Here are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in quite an old version of the Ninja Turtles. We have Michaelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo, Venus De Milo and Splinter the rat. They fight for the justice of the world whilst eating pizza! They are all very unique I have to say so lets get this blog rolling.

First Impressions Before Seeing The TV Show?

I didn't have a first impression, I remember this TV Channel called "FOX KIDS" and after Power Rangers, Jackie Chain the Adventures, Big Bad Beetleborgs and VR Troopers this was on. Considering, Fox Kids was just awesome. It had Goosebumps as well! EEEK! Childhood was great. But, all serious this appealed to me because it was funny, it was silly, there's some actual martial arts involve and some interesting characters along the way when i remember back to the trailer.

After I Watched The TV Series?

This only was on our screens for a year, but it's actually quite funny, action packed and silly. As a kid you don't want something complicated but something creative and considering the new movie came out I think people would like to look at some of these old episodes! I love the funky opening to the episodes which is at the bottom of this blog . Plus, I think it's nice having different kinds of turtles in the mix, Raphael was the more "am the strongest turtle, I can do this on my own".  Then, you have Leo whom was more into the martial arts, peace, and highly intelligent. Off course, Don! He was the gadgets, science turtle who likes statistics! Venus De Milo was the more magical turtle and was lost at birth but joined these turtles. She does know how to rock, but is a lot more mature then the other turtles. And, I did saw my favourite for last, Mike.....he loves pizza, he loves food and he's the more sillier turtle, and he likes the skateboard too. Not well! But he tries!. Plus, I love all the different villains we see and I think you need to have the quirky villains for such a ridiculous hero like a human size speaking and pizza eating Turtle.

What Makes This A Great Childhood Program?

Well considering Fox Kids had LOADS of programs at the time. They had Goosebumps, Pokemon, loads of different Power Rangers, Spiderman, X-Men, Inspector Gadget, Ace Venture, Digimon, Big Bad Beetleborgs, Jackie Chan the Adventures, Godzilla, Mystic Knights, Silver Surfer, Tiny Toons, Dennis the Menace, and the Addams Family. Now, thinking of all those TV Programs you can't say Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation doesn't belong there. It's a quirky show for those kids that love weird stuff. And, if all these 90s shows coming back to you, you're welcome. But, I think it was a great program because it was flowing with other great programs similar material. There were heroes and villains in near enough all the shows I mentioned. That's Fox Kids really, that's how I remember it.

Should They Do This TV Show Today?

Personally, it wouldn't work and here's why....Considering, this is a 90s show and I don't want anything kids watch now because I find it boring. I like Netflix and if I want something really really easy to watch or I have my niece or nephew with me I put Rugrats on. I like the old cartoons, not going to lie the things on TV now just stinks! These 90s shows just seem more intelligent then the ones we have now if am honest. And, 90s childhood programs just rock more than what kids watch today. That's fact.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

You know what, if you do have a child introduce them to the 90s stuff it's really better if am honest. This is from a responsible point of view, I grew up with mostly creative 90s shows and I have expanded my mind in different ways. Like personally, am not judgemental because I grew up thinking these Ninja Turtles were real. I didn't know people were in them in costumes. Am not a racist am not saying 90s shows doesn't make you a racist but considering what I watched throughout childhood, I watched shows with equal situations for male, female, turtles, digimonsters, Yu-Gi-Oh cards....I know am a geek okay! But, it's logical I judge everyone equally because shows like these teaches us it's not how you look on the outside but the inside that matters. And, that's the bottom line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and all the shows the Fox Kids presented.

Tips If Watching The TV Series?

Yes, the image above happened and I laughed. I literally laughed, because it was something I never ever ever thought would EVER happen. This is the Ninja Turtles fighting alongside Power Ranges in Space! There's only ONE main reason I don't like this version because at the end of Power Rangers in Space, Zordon gets killed :( Evil Saban!  But, some great good came from his death. But, anyway! When you order a pizza and have no idea what to watch.....watch this. I think it's perfect when you're eating pizza because these guys are pizza lovers too!

My Rankings

Personally, I think I give this a very easy 6/7 but not a 4. To me, a 4 doesn't mean watchable, I think it's a 6 or a 7 because it's silly and fun. There is martial arts in here, there's great villains because remember in 1998/1997 for TV Shows, lots of costumes and make up were coming in effect. I knew Saban produce this and his villain costumes are quite child viewable which is why I think I rate it higher, because of the watch factor of it. And, the fact I completely forgot that the turtles are in costumes!

What's The Bottom Line with Black Christmas?

Black X-Mas (2006)

Starring Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy The Vampire Slayer and EuroTrip) Mary Elizabeth Winstead (The Thing and Final Destination 3) and Lacey Chabert (Party of Five and Mean Girls)

First Impressions Before Seeing The Film?

I am trying to remember how I found out about this film,. I think I bought it in a DVD shop at six quid. I know it came out in the Halloween time. The cover, looked interesting, I just bought films to watch something back then because of college, something to put on in the background whilst I study. Look, back then I didn't have Netflix okay haha. But, I don't even remember it being in cinemas. So, I think in the UK it just went straight to a DVD because it didn't sell well in America cinemas. I knew Michelle Trachtenberg was in this film and at that point I think I watched Ice Princess around that same time. Maybe, a year before I watched Black X Mas. I will say thou, there's loads of Black XMas films, Black Christmas films. So, this is the 2006 version, which personally is one of the better versions. The blood doesn't look like ketchup and the killer has a spark of creativeness when it comes to slaughtering his/her victims.

After I Watched The Film?

I actually love this film. Not because it was cheap, my expectations was low to start with because it was cheap. But, it's now one of my favourite films to watch at Halloween and even Christmas! I love the gore, but as you see in the top picture, the eyes are removed and there's actually a really great scene I didn't want to show you the video. But, the killer puts the eye in his mouth and you see the 'pop' sound and the chewing it just looks gross. There's actually quite a number of disturbing scenes, these images are just literally a tip of what really is disturbing about this film. Which I won't tell because the things that happen is mentally just weird, but then there's loads of killings that happened. It's actually a perfect serial killer film, you got lots of murdering action and that one hero which to be honest I didn't expect it to be that certain person. I thought first thought it's Michelle Trachtberg, but as you found out below it's not! And, since out of all those names I think she is one of the more well known actresses my personal preference.

Plus, I think my personal opinion. I have watched horror films since I was about 8 or 9. I love them my first one I think was Sleepy Hollow..... I THINK. But, all honesty, this horror film has the more creative ways to execute his/her victims. And, it keeps with the theme of "Black XMas" you have to remember, that when we think of serial killers, they have a mind set of how they kill. They like the look of blood. Well, this killer kills at Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So, think about that. I am not saying, why. But, it's just logical why. Something dramatic, traumatising and something serious happened around the time of Christmas. Plus, I think they did research into this, because you have to remember Cannabalism. Let me just explain this one, the killer killed his mother and from her skin made cookies........that's disturbingly wrong but we want to know why. There's something disturbing about the killer that questions us about why he/she does it.

Why's This Killer Worth Watching?

I think I kind of explained this in the second half above, but just look at the image there. There's a real art form there, there's pleasure in doing this. There's some form of pride because you're mounting it on a Christmas tree. In some sense, it's just down right wrong, why would anybody sane do this? But, that's I think the reason you should watch this. There is a link, there's that boundary that some people have crossed. Whilst, the killer has crossed it and played around and when it's time to play, get the hands and brushes out. I mean, I was actually in awe of the mentally challenging display of this Christmas tree. It has severed heads everywhere with no eyes, and I THINK no tongue. BUT BUT, there's reasoning behind that! Which is why I love this film, it's very short spoon feeding and there's a twist and there's a great ending.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

I think it goes two ways really, my bottom line is. That, if you like you're really unusual horror films where the killer only kills at Christmas, has numerous ways to kill there victims and the fact that's it's a good cast. I mean, bottom line is, if you're a horror fan watch it. But, if the images I've shown provide some upset stomachs then don't watch it. There is suspense, there is curiosity but there is a great twist.

My Rankings

4.5 rating on IMDB, 4.5! I now it didn't do well in America but this is actually one of my favourite horrors. You get really rubbish horror films based at Christmas. But, this one I have to say is quite good....IT'S NOT 10 out of 10 worth. But, I give it a good solid 7! At least! Because, the twist you never see coming. I didn't see it coming, you always suspect it too simple but gets complicated. Which I enjoyed.

What's The Bottom Line with Hard Candy?

Hard Candy (2005)

Starring Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring and Insidious) and Ellen Page (Inception and Juno)

First Impressions Before Seeing The Film?

Not going to lie I haven't seen anything in Ellen Page, this was my first film I saw her in. So, Juno I haven't seen because the film doesn't appeal to me. But, I did know a little about Patrick Wilson....a little! I think I found this film in a DVD shop, it was £4 so that is a bargain really. But, 2005 was actually the time period where I got into more thrillers and not horror based films. I think at the time I watched Thirteen Ghosts, so I was looking for something thriller based, but something complicated and something I can stick with. I think this film was made too early for it's time. I think if this film came out in 2010 we could expect more knowledgeable people knowing about this film, and more different kinds of people knowing about this film too. Personally, the year it came out is wrong because when I watched it I wasn't hooked but later in life I was. But the cover looked cool, I mean a hooded girl, and there's a bear trap. Which iconic because there's no reference to bear traps in the entire film. But, it's a message which will be discussed later.

After I Watched The Film?

That later is now! Bear traps when I finished the film I was thinking. I get it. Bear traps are to lure out the predators and then the trappee either kills or sets free peacefully the bear. That's like a snip of the entire film! It's really interesting actually both characters. I mean Patrick Wilson character he is a photographer, he is a designer, he is creative. But, has a secret....and Ellen Page, is a girl under 18 in the film and it's strange where the film leads. I have to admit Ellen Page's character and lets be honest Ellen Page in real life are intelligent human beings. But, the difference here is that Ellen Page's characters intelligences can be seen in numerous ways. She has organization skills, she's clever at timing, she's clever at knowing her enemy. BUT, that's not the film, am trying not to say what the film is about and what happens because I think that would spoil you watching. But, Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson's 'relationship' shall we say is like a roller coaster. It's normal, well as whatever normal can be at the beginning and it goes up, up ,up,down, down and hell, and up again. It has a mixture of turns and twists. Plus, elements being used in the film that both parties didn't see coming. Plus, there is small elements of suspense but I think when people say 'thriller' I mean I recently watched "There's Something About Emanuel" and that got me thinking, what makes a 'thriller' a thriller. I mean, this film has some suspense, some gripping stuff, and some actually serious matters that in our society we have. But, I would say it's more a horrific drama taken place in today's society. They were, thrilling moments but that's about it. I wouldn't say the whole film is a thriller. There's mostly talking, but I think that's important when you want to understand what kind of character your watching, and trying to either get comfortable as a viewer watching or as uncomfortable you don't dare like them. BUT, that's another thing I like about this film......all am going to say is that......you can dislike someone from what they do, but in the end you kind of like them but at the same time hate them like friend/enemies.

Does This Film Get Boring With Two Main Actors?

Since am writing this for you, THE PUBLIC. I have to say, it depends on your preference. I like the fact it's just two people mainly in this film because we can get to know them more and more throughout the film and just concentrate on them. HOWEVER, I know for fact that this could bore people. If you like mainly chatting, some thriller moments and I mean few I mean like last 30/40 minutes of the film is the main bits. But, you had to listen and learn from the beginning to understand these characters. I have to say that, I like this film because we get to know both characters. I like that. But, we also see the psychological problems with both parties. It's not as straight forward as there is one villain in this mix up. There's two. Everyone has this ability to tap into there brains to access this psychological problems from there experiences but also how we look at things. You can see how some of these psychological problems happened but at the end of the day, I can't decide whether or not who's the goodie or the baddie because I think they both have these attributes just used wrongly.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

Bottom Line, I have to say if you like you're more talking psychological thrillers this is for you. But, thrilling wise, there's about two proper disturbing scenes in the whole film. However, the psychological moments are brilliant and the script was really cleverly thought out.

My Rankings

Well IMDB users gave this a 7.2, so thereby I have to give this about a 7. I wanted to see more Thriller, but I understood that this was mainly a talking film. No, bang bang, doors knocking, no one there thriller. It's a more straight forward psychological thriller. But, personally I would only recommend it if you like these kinds of films. And, that's the bottom line.

What's The Bottom Line special Murderous Mondays presents Amusement

presents

Amusement (2008)

Starring Katheryn Winnick (Love & Other Drugs and 50 First Dates), Laura Breckenridge (Hit and Run and Loving Annabelle) and Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield and Evil Dead)

Introduction

AHHHH! It's Murderous Monday again, and what serial, disturbing film have I got for you're sickly appetite? This film is called 'Amusement'. It's about three different women, three different stories.....But, with a twist. They all are being stalked by the same serial killer. Why is he doing this? What makes this film, different to the others? I picked this for Murderous Monday's because it's such an underrated film. I still love this film, because it's different to the other horror films we still see today. It has twists, gore, blood and has a sense of Saw involved.

First Impressions Before Seeing The Film?

I was surprised about how much I didn't hear about this film! I literally saw this at a DVD shop, and I thought it looked awesome. The cover itself had some detail in there. The lettering of AMUSEMENT, it shows the dark, playfulness of the film. And, I have to say the only person I recognize from the film, now looking back is Jessica Lucas. She was in Evil Dead, which is a great horror film. But, I was thinking about who is the killer because all you see on the cover, I bought was this really disturbing clown and the caption...."It's funny right?". I was really interested in this film, and back in 2008 I didn't research anything about the film, I literally bought it and watch it! But, there's something about it I didn't know what caught my eye about it. And, it still catches my eye, it's dark, it's interesting....yeah, I am sure I'll like this film.

After I Watched The Film?

Considering it's like, the film is in three parts. You know these three girls and then this guy is stalking them. And, the reason behind it, is actually quite clever of how they did it. It's a complicated, tortours film. BUT, there is something about the killer that made me think for a few minutes about how he became that! Think about it, all serial killers in movies. I like the kiler(s), I am doing the whole killer(s) because psychologically there is more than one. Which I found quite interesting as a viewer, because you kind think in the film that "Oh, that's the killer, cue AHH!". BUT, it's not that simple! They did it in a way where, "Oh the killers in that room this person is fine". and, BOOM the killer's behind you! The lighting effects, the costumes, the characters of the killers. Overall, the killer has meaning and determination which is what I find interesting about the killer. He/She isn't just on a random killing spree, it's specific. And, the fact that he/she went through all this effort to get these people, you see why, which I felt lacked in some horror films. Yes, you could do the Batman way of how you're going to kill everyone and how exactly you're going to do it. OR, this is the genius bit I found in the film. You could keep them alive, and then do the batman stuff.....Clever right? And, it's not just the clown image you see in the blog, there's actually three completely different ways the killers uses his/her brain. Which for me as a viewer is unique to see in a horror film. For example, Saw Jigsaw uses traps, Freddie Kruegar in Nightmare on Elm Street uses dreams. Amusement killer uses different elements to capture his/her prey. Take that in for a minute, that is genius because as a horror fanatic I haven't seen it done right till now.

What's So Different With This Film Compare To Other Horror Films?

It's not the gore or the blood, or the different ways he/she gets them. I think it's the fact, they carefully thought about each character and the way the killer uses his/her brain. I like the blood, guts and very gruesome images that I see and quite disturbing images. But, remember this is 2008 not 2014, so that's 6 years different. Personally, I think this film brought the elements of the intelligence from numerous killers and the uniqueness about his/her ways. It's something to think about and step back, because at first you think it's complete insanity. But, the killer has planned this carefully, there's the sense of patience, anxiety, determination, pride, glory, honour, justice. There's all these numerous elements in one persons brain. AND, at a point you feel sorry for this murderous killer. WHICH IS GENIUS. We sometimes feel sorry for a killer, because of what he/she has been through. But, how we saw it in this film is actually clever. There's no spoon feeding you're just thinking. What? WHY? Until, that moment and it all comes together. To make it simple, this film is different because it only gives you ONE jigsaw piece, then another, and then another. But, then at a point it gives you more than you want which makes the image you have oh so tasteful.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

If you are like me, which I hope not because I don't like the thought of two me's! But, if you have similar taste to me, and like the whole. Why? Who? Where? How? Moments, this film is perfect. There's a great element of thriller, there's a great element of suspense and it's not too complicated you can't keep up. But, again not simple you get bored of it and that's the bottom line.

My Rankings

Right, am going to try and do this as black and white as possible IMDB users gave this a 5.2. Am not giving this a 10 out of 10 thou. I did see flaws within the film itself, some bits were like "really?". Some bits, I loved and wanted more. The WOW, take a seat back moments were great. The acting abilities were all there really, I can't fault the acting. It had the creepiest, weirdest bunch in. So, that in mind I have to give it a watch-able and yet enjoyable 7 out of 10. I did this blog because it is a great murderous film to watch. You're always wondering who's the murderer, why is the killer doing this. Which is what I want in a thriller horror film.

What's The Bottom Line special Super Saturday presents Halloween Costumes?

presents
Halloween Costumes

Introduction

We are actually really getting close now to Halloween, and if you're like me.....WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR! Well, here's some costumes for both male and female to just get the ball rolling so to speak. And, I made sure I didn't pick any really scary or clowning ones. Because, my experiences in the past of Halloween parties I think it's like 1 out of 8 people hate clowns. So, don't be a clown basically! Haha. I haven't gone too revealing, these costumes are for fun! Pure and simple. It's ideal for a university party, Halloween parties, and it shows some of you're character of how much you really know about Halloween as well. But, since it's SUPER SATURDAY! I will give you the ultimate Halloween Costume that is IDEAL for this holiday! And, I haven't actually gone too expensive with the costumes, easily find and that's what makes this SUPER. So, lets get started. Finally, I picked this for Super Saturday mainly because you don't want to spend so much on you're Halloween costume, so here's some super tips and costumes for you!

Women

 Sulley from Monsters, Inc.

Right, I love this outfit! Am sorry, my fashion sense is coming in. At Halloween you want to be notice or not notice. Well, this will drive Disney Fans wild! Sulley from Monsters, Inc. You're looking at most maybe 30 quid maybe 10 quid for the colour dye or wig. But, all in all it's sensible. If you're in a club you won't get too hot, you got that comfortable revealing and it's not at all too revealing. The footwear is ideal as well it shows fun and quirkiness which is Halloween. Expand the normal day clothes and become Sully for a night, or a day if you love the costume!.

Edward Scissorhands from Edward Scissorhands

If you're like me into the darker things in life, go for Edward Scissorhands. I have seen it on numerous females in clubs and even friends have worn it and it's basically you can make it you're own really. You can buy one and make it look how you want it too look. You can make it as revealing or not revealing as you want if you wanna look 'sexy'. But, remember Edward Scissorhands make sure when making there not real scissors! But, as you see in the costume above they have got the female portrait of Edward spot on. In theory, if you have lots of black, some thread you can everything really and make it truly unique. Except the boots, them you could probably have to buy! But, all in all a challenge or you could just buy it!

 A unique skeleton costume

I did a VooDoo Doctor last year, and I just remember someone doing a skeleton costume similar to this. But, this tops it I would say. You have the comfortableness it's well suitable for clubbing, pubs, bars for Halloween. You won't get to hot in the place, the shoes are spot on, the skeleton clothing is detailed enough you got the idea, and I would even put on a leather black jacket on maybe with some studs and make a skeleton character. Can go punky, gothic, flower power, you can make this skeleton into any character you want. Which is quite ideal for a woman that wants to go as a certain someone but doesn't know how to make it Halloween. You could even make this into a nurse, secretary, school girl (the plain Halloween 'rubbish') and spice it up with a skeleton body underneath. Break the barrier of the plain simple Halloween stuff and make it ACTUAL Halloween.

Chucky the Killer Doll from Child's Play

Now, I purposely chosen this because I know lots of friends that love there horror films but have no idea what to go as. Now, Chucky. Think of it this way, Chucky is a funny guy, so immediately people will think you have a funny sense of humour and you like the horror films and the fact you thought about the Halloween concept. But, you could make this as plain and simple to the point or sexy and revealing as you want. All females are different, so I think I dunno. But, at the end of Halloween some girls either want to go out and go "BANG! Check this out" or some girls want to go into the character and dress up like that character for one night OR you do it for fun OR something else. There's so many females all are different. BUT, this costume is quite suitable but at the same time as that uniqueness I have never seen a female dressed as Chucky, and am quite surprised I haven't seen it yet.

Men

 Beetlejuice from Beetlejuice

From my years at university, everybody loves a Beetlejuice, it was my favourite costume I ever seen. If you love Tim Burton or you just want to go as that mad character deep down, you are or want to be. Then, BEETLEJUICE. He is one of those characters you just love to see and when someone actually puts in the effort to go all out, you know they are generally the guys that want to have fun at the end of the night. But, overall Beetlejuice is for those who love to fully dress up and make up and just be him for the night. Just don't say his name three times, I don't think he can jump club to club.....But, it probably do a pub crawl haha.

Duffman! from The Simpsons

I have actually found a costume I like! But, can only do the voice. If you have the muscles, the confidence, the humour, the voice even just go for it. Duffman is really a hilarious character to become at Halloween, everyone who is anyone should recognize this character. It's fun for anything really, if you have a family party with kids this is actually ideal because even kids watch The Simpsons. But, it's great for clubs, pubs, university parties. People will know who you are, which is always a plush, and the shoes are easy to come by and you'll be comfortable as well.

 VooDoo Doctor

This would be a great outfit, if you want to show off you're weird side. VooDoo is a dark art which is used in a lot of Halloween movies. But, if you want to make it even more great, get the hat, the coat, but make sure you're a guy that can handle the heat. By the end of the night, I was HOT! And, don't mean physically I mean it was hot under that coat! But, all in all it's a great idea and you are getting in the spirit of Halloween. If I did this again, my advice would be remove the coat, and wear a sleeveless shirt and paint bones on you're arms where bones are suppose to go and maybe even tare some of the shirt and make more bones for the skin to show you gone that extra mile to make an effort.

Minion from Despicable Me

I think this costume, has been done in numerous ways but I haven't seen it like this yet. I think it's a great costume simply because it's cheap. When you're a student you want something cheap, buy yellow face paint, body paint whatevers. Paint yourself, buy the suit, make the G, sow it on and BANG you got a Minion. And, making the goggles and head piece is really easy. You don't have to spend much then. But, you have to say Banana so people embrace you're character. But, want to make it more spooky? Make a dead minion. Get this costume, paint you're face as a zombie, put cobwebs all over your suit, bit of baby powder and boom Dead Minion.

FAVOURITE of That's The Bottom Line for Women and Men.... Day of the Dead

Now, if you don't know anything about this, let me explain. Day of the Dead is basically celebrating the dead ones that come back to life on Halloween. It's a PERFECT and CHEAP....let me say that again....CHEAP way to make you're costume. It's simple, do the make up and just get into you're ideal Day of the Dead character. You could do bride and groom, punk, goth, geek, jogger, priest, policeman, teacher, hero, it's really anything. This is actually ideal for a parties because you're comfortable, you turned into the Day of the Dead and I am ashamed that at university or parties I have been to there hasn't been a Day of the Dead party. Simply because, everyone will feel comfortable, no one will feel silly and it's great to make friends and to ask who's you're character.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

Just remember that these are just ideas, I think if you do pick a costume for Halloween it can be difficult. But, since you got so much time you can think carefully, buy way in advance so it's there. That's one vital tip, if you want that costume, got the money and you have to order it. Do it way before Halloween so you got it, check it out and got all you're make up ready. So, it's just the case of putting it on at you're on pace then panicking! My bottom line is, whatever you do pick make sure you are happy and comfortable with it and that you haven't just chosen that because someone else thought you looked cute in it......just a pointer this is for over 18, if you're under 18 you're parents, sisters, friends etc pick hahaha Hey must be a reason you turn 18 for a reason. So, I hope you have a very happy Halloween in One Month and 5 Days! MWHAHAHA! And, that's the bottom line.

What's The Bottom Line special Freaky Friday presents The Addams Family

presents

The Addams Family

Introduction

So, here's my Freaky Friday with a twist! I will present the 1991 version of The Addams Family. BUT, I'll even provide my very own cast that if they ever did a reboot now or next year or in a couple of years. So, the first bit will be what's the character really and how they played the character. I hope you enjoy the freakiest of families The Adams Family

Who Played Who in The Addams Family 1991 version?

Anjelica Huston as Morticia Addams

I think Anjelica Huston really plays Morticia Addams brilliantly, she portrays the beauty, the mysterious upbringing. She has passion. It's a very absurd passion but it's something we can connect with her with. She likes black as well, well so does most of the family. But, the figure she has is something really, don't want to say nice. But, it is! Her shoulders are sharp and she has this very tight hour glass figure which is why outsiders just gasp at her. I think....she's a seductive woman, and I think she's laid back about the whole concept of death, morbid rituals. I think she's a dark spiritualist as well. But, again she appreciates what matters most to her, which is her family.

Raul Julia as Gomez Addams

I think everyone now knows who Raul Julia is just from this film. Gomez Addams to me, is still a kid at times who will play, fight, conquer, be a mischievous character. But, Raul Julia had these brillaint eyes! They widen when excited and he was literally insane in this film. He catches knives but above all I think he has what we can all relate to. He is a dad, he can be this strict fun loving dad at times, and even joins in with the children. But, he has this spark of fun that comes and goes but above the children there's his wife. Clearly, he loves her we see the whole kissing of the hand working slowly up. I think Raul Julia should of been in more films, it's a real shame we could of seen him in more. But, I think when we think of Gomez Addams we will think of this version. It's not to silly, it's not too morbid. It has the correct balance I think of what Gomez Addams is actually and not what actors want him to be.

Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams

Christina Ricci as we see her come away from Wednesday Addams she loves the horrors and thriller films. So, I think Wednesday Addams is....a mystery. We know her as this child that discovers her first kiss, her strange rituals, her witchcraft, her investigations into things. But, we don't actually know who Wednesday Addams is. I think that's why we love this character because I think she wants to be more like her mother. But, at the same time want to be on the kid side. I think it's overall strange how Wednesday has a fascination with death and knows so much about death. Yet, we never see her get educated so I assume this version, she goes into the library and studies. Plus, we do know she's creative she wants to get her brother in trouble, she wants that element of getting caught. So, we could say that she wants attention. But, we don't know, in the films that followed not in the highest paid psychologist knew what was up with the family. Now thinking about it, I would say she's a very lower toned, and has an element of Eric Cartman from South Park of her twisted mind. And, then I would say she has the mind of a serial killer like Jigsaw in Saw. It's quite hard to define this character because we know literally so little about her.

Jimmy Workman as Pugsley Addams

Jimmy Workman if you don't know what he has done check out his IMDB page, it's quite interesting after Addams Family. But, Pugsley Addams is very simply sum up as you're fun loving, caring, chaotic boy that just wants to play. I think Pugsley is the perfect example of what playing is, he is happy what he accomplishes, he likes food, he likes to play with everyone and knows everyone. But, behind this playfulness there's the element of enjoying and being happy of others misfortune which I think people need to remember because he is an Addams.

Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Festa

I am going to say now, I didn't know it was Christopher Lloyd at the time. He is brilliant, my sister was like "That's Christopher Lloyd" because at the time I was a huge Back to the Future fan. And, I was like "NO IT'S NOT!". So, I googled and I was wrong, anyway!. Uncle Festa! I think he is a REAL character for psychologists, veterians and even your children would love to wonder who the heck this guy is. I think, he loves his experimenting, he loves his games, he loves exploring. But, as the films progress we see that under all this absurdity, games, insanity and madness he just wants someone to love him. We discover he wants what Morticia and Gomez wants which is someone else. But, I think there's actually more to this, I think he finds Death as a game. See, I used a capital letter? That's because I think Uncle Festa would refer to Death as an actual person. We know he has a few brain cells missing and a few strands of sanity left, but you can not love the guy! I think....he is the best Uncle you could ever have! He plays with the kids in dangerous ways! What more could you ask for? Responsibility? Nahh, that's the parents jobs....well not for this family.

Judith Malina as Granny

What can I say about Granny? To be honest, I would just love to see inside that cook book of hers! We seen her chase dog, cats, rats, insects and I just want to know what's in this food! I think, she's a loving caring person but she doesn't want to upgrade to the present but more stick with the past. We seen her done numerous spells and witchcraft alike, but I think she mainly has this for protection of her family. She's a crazy person, she runs with cats and dogs with a frying pan. But, shes quirky and I think when you look at her from a distance you can see she's trying to be that stereotypical Grandma. Let me explain, she likes to cook, clean, sleep, nap, run around and I think that's what a Grandma is. We know Grandma's for cooking excellent meals, napping in points of the day, running around for you and caring for you and making you feel welcome. Now, think of this Granny, you can't say she doesn't do that because she does. She cooks for the whole family! She's always there and will even play games with the kids!

Christopher Hart as Thing

I didn't know that Christopher Hart was a magician which makes sense when you think about Thing, I always wondered how Thing can do all these amazing tricks and stunts and that's why because I notice a magician can do a lot more with there hands as illusions and trickery go. And, that's Thing. He's a playful hand, a cheeky hand, a knowledgeable hand, a hero hand. I think he is a bunch of all these elements but we know Thing is an old hand as well been in the service for ages or a dear friend. I think he really cares about the family, he serves and he nurtures the family as far as Thing would need to go.

John Franklin as Cousin IT

This character, I can think of two things what makes this character IT really makes you think. Cousin IT either doesn't like to cut his hair. We know IT is a HE because HE gets married to a woman. And, IT had a baby, which was WHAT. So, he is married and IT'S baby is called WHAT. Well, least you won't forget IT. OR, I think Cousin IT is just another experiment gone wrong! But, I love the voice! It's a squeaky voice and yet people understand what he is saying and we don't! And, plus his car! It's a nice car you know Cousin IT is trying to have the nicer life style when you see the car, he likes living in the present and wants to spend what he can enjoying it.

Carel Struycken as Lurch

All am going to say is look at IMDB, put Carel Struycken in and you will notice make up did an amazing job. Lurch, it's quite hard to figure him out, he grunts and moans and that's about it. He has a slow movement so you could tell he has been in service for a number of years! But, when thinking about how Lurch came into service. You could say, that he is Frankenstein just without the bolts, he was made. OR, you could say he was a slave was sent free years ago but found living with the Addams was a dream come true. I think he likes serving the Addams. I think Lurch knows the gossip as well, he communicates with everyone makes sure everyone is fine and he knows there stories and where everyone is. But, I think Lurch because it's not this Lurch but in a newer version he finds love. But, I don't think Lurch has time for love if am honest. He loves the Addams more than any person or living/non-living thing.

What Makes These Characters So Interesting?

I think when combining all these characters, you actually get a family. They have there ups and downs but I think we find it more interesting because we can relate to some of the situations, they have just been blown out of proportion which is why I love the Addams Family. Plus, I can see each and every uniquness within every character.

If They Did A Reboot Who Would Play Who?

Introduction

The actors I have chose was completely out of my head, it's the actors I think can pull off the characters and to see them in a different light, I'll go into why I picked them and all honesty! I went completely honest and am sticking with these cast members.

Helena Bonham Carter as Morticia Addams

I wanted a little older Morticia and I think from the top of my head, to keep the weirdness and the strangness and yet to keep the beauty and the mystery, the only person I can pick is Helena Bonham Carter. She has been brillaint in the Harry Potter films as Bellatrix, we seen her in Tim Burton works. But, I think she can keep a facial expression like Anjelicia Huston. Plus, I think we can see more in Helena Bonham Carter in this role, I seen her in Mary Shelley's Frankenstien and I think with the films she has done she can combine them to create Morticia Addams. But, I wouldn't change the costume maybe put some cobwebs on the shoulders to give it that ancient and more older generation of Morticia.

Johnny Depp as Gomez Addams

Starters, I didn't pick Johnny Depp because of Helena Bonham Carter or Tim Burton films. I actually picked Johnny Depp because considering who is out in Hollywood and who's well know. Johnny Depp could play a great Gomez Addams. Think about it! The Mad Hatter's eyes you need a sense of insanity, and catching knives with your mouth and yet being romantic, soppy and very eye catchingly seductive. And, I personally think Johnny Depp has that weirdness has that absurdity and the mind set to do it! And, it's not because he has a moustache! I have seen him in loads of films, if he combined the quirkiness of Tim Burton films, with that of his romance films, I think we can see a great side of Gomez Addams.

Chloe Grace Moretz as Wednesday Addams

Am not going to change my mind.....Chloe Grace Moretz! She is perfect for Wednesday Addams. She has done Kick Ass, Carrie, Dark Shadows, Let the Right One In etc, I think she has the mind, the mystery of Wednesday to pull it off. I would dye her hair black to do this! I think she can be mischievous as well. The film idea I have is that Wednesday wants something and none of the family is letting her so...she kills them. They would love it! Make it into a game! I can see her keeping in that blank facial expression but I want to see more Wednesday Addams and more about her.

Thomas Sangster as Pugsley Addams

It's a strange choice, but I think he can pull it off. I seen him in Doctor Who and I think he can get that playfulness of Pugsley Addams and yet have the boy likeness of him. I have seen him gone dark, and I think we see the dark side of Pugsley but in a very humorous manner. There's that iconic when Pugsley Addams brings in a stop sign for dinner and you hear a train crash, and a car crash and he smiles and the family cheer him. I think something like that, but I wanted to change is character completely, but still have the shaved head. But, has the family features but can pull off that character and give it justice.

Tobin Bell as Uncle Festa

From Jigsaw, I think I want to see Tobin Bell play Uncle Festa, I want to see him get more quirky, I want to see him loose that insanity, running around, being cowardly maybe, and yet have the same element as Christopher Lloyd did for his Uncle Festa. But, I STILL want to see a darker version of Uncle Festa. Plus, I think I want a older version of Festa as well...IF POSSIBLE!, I would like to keep the wrinkles and show what he be like older. Maybe, he likes making traps and keeping score of how many times Gomez fell into his traps. But, I can se Tobin Bell pulling this character off because he puts effort and research into his character. Plus, the laugh....I think Tobin Bell's laugh for Jigsaw and the smile you can change the horror concept and give it to a comedy element.

Glenn Close as Granny

I purposely thought of Glenn Close because of her Cruella DeVille character. She has the protential to pull of a Granny in Addams Family. But, I would make the granny more wicked, more witchy, more crazy and loony. So, I had to think of an oldish actor that physically can pull of the role. So, here you have it Glenn Close and with the right make up team, you can change this beautiful actress into a scary granny that only the kids love.

Dynamo as Thing

There's only one reason I picked Dynamo and that's because I wanted to keep that magician factor but can also do the hand trickery and stunts that I feel mainly magicians can pull off. I think Dynamo could make Thing a lot more of character then we have seen. I would like to see him do more stunts and crazy scenarios. But, I would keep everything the same because I think Thing is a recognizable character that if you change too much will ruin who is Thing.

Seth McFarlane as Cousin IT

I wanted someone good with voices, I wanted someone that can portray that cool, quirky, dark element thou at the same time. Why not the guy who did Family Guy? Seth McFarlane? I think considering he likes to do quirky things and I don't think people would expect him to be Cousin IT would give this film a WOW factor. That Seth McFarlane yeah, does cowboys, teddie bears...but is now a ball of fur? I think would make him go up a level.

Christopher Walken as Lurch

I wanted someone scary at first appearances, but can keep a very bland facial expression with great grunts and moans. I think Christopher Walken with some make up and special effects could really give a scare factor! Plus, I wanted Lurch older to show the years he has served as well. But, I was thinking of that scary appearance because he was in Sleepy Hollow as the Headless Horseman. So, I think Chrisopher Walken would give the role justice.

Why I Picked These Actors?

I notice with Addams Family that you need the likeness and comfortability when watching the film and yet see recognizable traits. So, I picked these actors for these roles because I can see it physically see it happening and the fact when looking at them all together. Like, the Addams Family it makes me comfortable watching the film.

What Kind of Film Would These Actors Do?

I can see two directors working on this film and that's Wes Craven and Tim Burton. I could go two ways with this, I could do a very Tim Burton style film with the comedy and family factor. OR, we could do a 12 rated film and really see The Addams Family with Wes Craven special effects, Tim Burton make up, scenary and script. We could actually see a completely new side of the Addams Family but at the same time we know it's the Addams Family.

Conclusion

I can actually seeing another reboot coming along in about 5/10 years, it's a very popular film but when they tried rebooting it with unknown actors you lost the wow factor and the cheesiness isn't needed. I think they have to go back to the original idea of who is the Addams Family and then cast and then research.

Bottom Line?

I think people forget how weird and disturbing the Addams Family can actually be, but when you think of how popular the cast for the 1991 have become from this film, you have to think back and think who can be the next Addams Family and that's the bottom line I am leaving you with.

Bit of Fun!

The trailer below is the tune to the film at the beginning, I would get Danny Elfman to make a much more darker version of this song but keep it the same tune, just a different feeling to it.
