What's The Bottom Line with The Cotton Bale JD Wetherspoons in Hyde on the Chicken Club Wednesday?

The Cotton Bale, JD Wetherspoons
Lunch Meal on 3rd September 2014
Location: Hyde
Special: The Chicken Club Wednesday

We ordered the following, and I will add the pictures of what the meal should of looked like

Chicken breast + pepper skewers, with peri-peri sauce and side salad

The image above is as close as the real thing, the chicken appeared only slightly over cooked because it appeared to be quite difficult to take off. However, my Dad said it was nice, the peppers looked hot instead of cold. I know right? But, I've had skewers before where the meat is hot but the peppers are frozen....I know weird! But, it was a nice balance, the skewers appeared nicely on the plate and the salad was nicely dressed. So, nice that you could of taken the salad ballroom dancing.

Peri-peri boneless chicken breast with chips, coleslaw and peri-peri sauce on the side

The only fault with this was the fact they forgot the coleslaw...so I offered mine because I didn't think I would need it. My mom had chips thou, and am glad I went with ricee because there was a fair amount of chips. The chicken appeared fully cooked to perfection, the colour is what you want. And, enough peri-peri sauce for the chicken and chips if you wanted to.

Considering so far, most of my meals have been...let's say not eatable. This was actually spot on, the chicken for me was done to perfection. The rice was mhmmm delicious it wasn't over cooked it wasn't under cooked. It was spot on, the peri-peri sauce was a very tangy and welcoming taste with the chicken and I actually ordered a side of chicken wings to compliment the meal. The only thing I shall say, the menu gave this meal a 3 peppers so your expecting HOT. For me, not hot enough haha I remember in America the moment your tongue touches this hot and spicy buffalo wings you're mouth is LITERALLY on fire. But, it was okay. And, the main reason I went for the side of 5 wings was I was torn between the peri-peri boneless chicken or the 10 pieces of chicken wings. Am glad, I didn't go for the 10 simply because it lacked some flavour that was needed. But, I would say it was slightly dry needed some seasoning which I don't understand. When, I want peri-peri boneless chicken I don't want the chicken breast and sauce on the side. When I cut it open, and take a bite I WANT PERI PERI FLAVOUR! Anyway, it was nice just a little idea for good old Wetherspoons to do.

Bottom Line?

I rate this meal around a 6 or 7, Wetherspoons cooks the chicken, so don't cluck cluck away give the Wednesday chicken a try, it's good price for a good meal and that's the bottom line.
