What's The Bottom Line with The Top 7 Simpsons Games

The Top 7 Simpsons Games

Introduction

This blog is looking at all our favourite Simpsons games that we probably forgotten now! We haven't seen a new Simpsons Game come out for years now, but why should they? There, Simpsons Tapped Out game is truly making there money on that game alone. So, let's look in the past and see what some of these games were all about.

1) The Simpsons Hit + Run (2003)

If you don't know what this game is, you need to find it and play it! It's about Buzz Cola and the evilness it has, we have bees, and it's actually the first Simpsons free roam game! It has 6 episodes if my memory is correct. But, you can buy costumes for your playable character from Homer Simpson and Marge to Apu and Bart, it's truly a fantastic game to play! Plus, you can buy vehicles and roam around Springfield and it's incredibly accurate to the TV series. Plus, you get to see some of the incredible short video that runs along the episode. But, you also can race Smithers, Comic Book Guy's enemy all sorts! The last level if I remember correctly is Halloween related! It's one of the best Simpsons game to date and I played this so much and even have the XBOX game tuck away in my XBOX classic.

2) The Simpsons Road Rage (2001)

Wasn't the best Simpsons game but I have to admit I love the racing style of the game. In the story of the game, Mr. Burns has bought all transit systems in Springfield and has begun to create radioactive buses that threaten the public health. Because of this, the citizens of Springfield must use their own cars as a means of safer public transport and earn money in an attempt to pay back Burns to get rid of the radioactive buses and return the town back to normal. The citizens of the city (controlled by the game player) earn the money by driving around a vehicle for a given amount of time, picking up passengers and taking them to their destinations. The player receives money upon successfully dropping off each passenger, and bonuses are obtained when they are transported in a short amount of time. Players have to avoid certain hurdles, such as other vehicles and Burns' nuclear transit buses. The game contains seventeen different collectible vehicles, six starting locations, and ten different missions. In order to collect the vehicles and unlock starting locations, players must earn progressively more money for each vehicle or starting location they want to get. In order to complete missions, players must do certain things (such as protecting Krusty the Clown from a fan mob by driving him away, and getting Homer to his workplace unnoticed). At first, the only playable characters (taxi drivers) are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Grampa, but as the game progresses more characters are unlocked. There is also a multi-player mode in which the two players compete to pick up the same passengers and drive them to their destinations.

3) The Simpsons Game (2007)

Players of The Simpsons Game are able to control four of the five members of the Simpson family, each with their own unique abilities. Two different family members are playable in each level, aside from the "Land of Chocolate" tutorial level, in which only Homer is playable. The game contains sixteen levels, called episodes, and each requires specific powers to complete. For example, in the fourth episode, "Lisa the Tree Hugger", the player is required to use Lisa's "Hand of Buddha" power to move large objects, and Bart's slingshot to shut down machines. Enemies unique to each episode are featured, with the exception of the final level, in which enemies that have already been defeated are "recycled" with different colours. Several challenges are made available after all episodes are completed. These include finding all the collectibles for each character, finding all the video game clichĂ©s, and in the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS versions, completing a certain task related to each episode's plot in a time trial. The Simpsons Game 's head-up display features health meters for both characters in each level, and an attack meter and special power meter for the character currently controlled by the player. The game features a two player co-op mode, which has a split screen and allows each player to control one of the two characters featured on that level.

4) The Simpsons Skateboarding (2002)

Springfield has been converted into a skate park for the Annual Skate Tour, full with skate-able objects and landmarks from the television series. Players are able to choose one of the nine characters available to compete for the grand prize. All of the characters' voices were recorded by the actual voice actors from The Simpsons. Each character has over forty unique moves. Players can test their skills in either a two-player head-to-head skate off, or in one of the fast and furious modes: Freeskate, Skate Fest, Trick Contest, and a game of skateboard H-O-R-S-E, unlocking additional characters, locations, and skateboards. Players can also choose to learn all the skateboard moves and tricks before they begin the actual game in the Skillz School mode.

5) The Simpsons Wrestling (2001)

The game is loosely based on professional wrestling games, but more closely resembles a beat-'em up. The game can be played in two modes: a tournament style single-player game or a grudge match where two players can interact. The matches take place in ten different detailed 3D locations from Springfield, such as the Simpsons' house, the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, the Kwik-E-Mart, and Moe's Tavern. Letters float around in the wrestling ring, and if a wrestler collects enough of them, they can taunt and temporarily become invincible. A round ends when one wrestler pins their opponent for a three count. Two rounds are needed to win a match. But, let's get to what really matters here! Who can you be?!?!?!
1) Home Simpson
2) Marge Simpson and Maggie Simpson
3) Lisa Simpson
4) Mr. Burns and Waylon Smithers (sub-boss, playable in Bonus mode)
5) Ned Flanders (unlockable)
6) Moe Szyslak (unlockable)
7) Barney Gumble
8) Apu Nahasapeemapetilon
9) Krusty the Clown
10) Bumblebee Man (unlockable)
11) Itchy
12) Scratchy
13) Porfessor Frink (unlockable)
14) Kang and Kodos (Final boss, playable in Bonus mode)
15) Groundskeeper Willie

Honestly, if you haven't played this Simpsons game even if you hate Tekken style, WWE games this is just hilarious!!! Ned Flanders kills you with God! what more can you ask for?!?!

6) The Simpsons Tapped Out (2012)

Let's be honest. This is probably where Simpson Games made there money! Homer Simpson "accidentally" blows up Springfield and we have to help, and rebuild it. It's very addictive. I played it for three years, and I had everything and I haven't played for a good 5 months and I know if I go back I will need a lot more than ever. It's fun, it's easy and it's free! So, where does the money go? If you buy doughnuts. But, this game has mini clips in the game if you are at certain levels, certain situations and it will play so it's like your in a Simpsons episode. I love the humour in the game, how easy the game can be too.

7) The Simpsons Zombie Shootout (N/A)

This is a PC game and it's pretty straight forward. Kill the Zombies. You see some of the Springfield Residents like Ned Flanders turned into zombies so it's up to you to shoot them dead. That's basically the game. There's no catch, no twist. That's the entire game, simple and yet can be fun if you like Simpsons if you want to kill as many zombies as possible.

What Could Be Next For The Simpsons Games?

I think there going to do something like South Park: The Stick of Truth because they are addictive games. But, I think they are going back to Simpsons Hit and Run because the free roam element lets the player enjoy the environment then set levels. But, yes there's a but.....This is very unlikely. Why? Because, Simpsons Tapped Out really makes there millions. Yeah, they could give us that game that we would all enjoy! Like merging other fantasy episodes like when Bart was The Shadow Knight, mixture of the Treehouse of Horrors would be awesome in the mix and maybe have some of what Simpsons characters think of there deram world. Depending on the script of the game, anything is possible. Maybe, merging the fantasy element with Kingdom of Hearts or Skyrim but clearly this won't happen.

What's The Bottom Line?

I carefully picked the top picture because it explains what Simpson Games can do to us, make us nervous, excited and above all sleepy because of how many hours we could play on them. So, bottom line? Hit and Run will always be my favourite but Skateboarding and Road Rage won't be for some reason. I do like Tapped Out but bottom line? We need a new game.....we need something for the console nothing like The Simpsons Game, merging Treehouse of Horrors and episodes that involve fantasy could make the game truly brilliant and off course having the idea that South Park had with South Park: Stick of Truth and that's the bottom line.
