Choccywoccydoodah Starstruck Cakes!
Introduction
So, above is what brings the magic and art to Choccywoccydoodah's cakes. I thought I do a blog purely on the Choccywoccydoodah Starstruck Cakes because they are just stunning and not many people I know watch these programmes. I can't see why, it's fun, they work hard on there cakes. And, all the people above are unique in one way, they all have bubbly personalities and there art shines in there cakes. So, let's get right down to the yummy goodness of cake and see what Choccywoccydoodah have created!
Greg Rutherford Challenge
I have seen this episode and by word it was a challenge. Greg Rutherford challenge Choccywoccydoodah to a huge challenge of building a small miniature of a ginger bread house. It was huge. It weighed more than 20 children, but just look at how much detail went into this cake. You have a cheeky garden gnome near the door, a welcome home mat, a dog, a pie just sitting on the window sill. Then, it was actually a huge construction challenge but the real challenge was taking it from one place to another because of how much it weighted he could collapse. But, you have to find the episode to find out. But, everything you see is eatable which for me is quite surprised because you can physically eat a house! But, overall stunning, imaginative, cheeky, childish and it was perfect for the challenge.
Alice Cooper Challenge
I will find this episode because the cake rocks! Truly fitting Alice Cooper's personality. I love the snake moving around the cake and the skull detail is just perfect. The poppy's truly gruesome and Gothic, and the faces imprinted onto the cake are stunning as well. I mean, you can't find a more perfect cake for Alice Cooper. I love this cake because it doesn't really look like a cake which I keep forgetting with Choccywoccydoodah they are quite unique with there cakes. I really wish I knew the challenge, but from the look of it it's for Remembrance Sunday because of the poppies but I remember Alice Cooper bringing out an album around that time so it could be that....Aahhhhh! Need to find this episode when I've done this.
Bill Bailey Challenge
Bill Bailey, guitarist but we know him more as a comedian. His challenge was for a charity called Four Paws. They were physically cakes, they were figures that Choccywoccydoodah have never done. But, all the cake makers were involved in this because they had to be the size of children! I love these two bears, Mike did the starstruck one with the rocking guitar and the american rock colours. The challenge was rock band, a little Goldilocks and the Three Bears theme heavy metal band. Which, just rocked to be honest. It is new so sorry if I spoiled anything. But, Tom's which is the drummer in the back was just spot on, nipple rings, pink shades and green hair and also torn blue jeans that is heavy metal right there. But, you think it stops there?!?! Off course not, this is Bill Bailey....the drums which is made of chocolate has to be playable....and how they did this was really clever but imagine the calories!
Game of Thrones Cake
This was quite easy from what I remember from it, it wasn't a challenge but there was a book conference with Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark. And, Maisie Williams as the Choccywoccydoodah's for a cake that will stun and amazing the fans of Game of Thrones. And, I have to say they deliver. It's very bloody and messy and pure guts and gore with the broken swords and shields. But, the shields look familiar don't they? You mainly see one of them but it's the Stark's family symbol. But, we have bows, swords, blood and pure mess which really sums up Game of Thrones really! It was a quick cake but I think it's simple and does the job.
Jackie Collins Challenge
I remember this episode and I remember the animal weighing a lot!. It's made of pure chocolate, inside has cake layers, and the team was struggling picking it up. But, you have to admit it's a stunning creature, the green emerald eyes, the pearly white teeth, but the diamond necklace is just stunning. Fit for any best selling author would love! I remember watching this and the cake team went into research and notice each episode they do around 10/20% research and then the rest is really pure imagination. But, I do love this majestic animal.
Katie Melua's Challenge
I have to say, this is one of my favourite episodes. It's so imaginative and creative. Katie Melua's cake challenge was I believe...it's either her birthday....am going to go with that. Sounds right to me. Anyway, the challenge was she wanted bubble bath, she did an under water concert....yeah figure that out it's not that complicated, and she loves music if you didn't know. So, Choccywoccydoodah made her into a mermaid! With tattoos of her history, the sea creatures beneath enjoying the music, her hair in waves and little forms of bubbles surrounding her. I have to say, stunning and beauty wise this is my favourite Choccywoccydoodah cake because it's pure imagination and they didn't go on much.
Wesley Snipes Challenge
If you never seen Choccywoccydoodah this is a perfect one to see the cake masters in comedy. Wesley Snipes as you know is in the newest Expendables, Expendables 3. And, he wanted to present at the after party of the premier a cake to the following stars. So, Choccywoccydoodah accepted. But, Wesley Snipes wanted an exploding cake.....you have to see if it happened. But, this cake screams Hollywood action. You got bombs going off, guns blazing and even the actors characters in the cake. And, you can't have the Expendables cake without the Expendables symbol. I have to admit that it is a stunning action cake and probably the best one I've seen to date.
Tinie Tempah Challenge
If you don't know who Tinie Tempah you must be under a rock for the past 5 years! Tinie Tempah wanted a cake and the challenge was huge. He wanted a cake that is disturbed, the sounds of London and having the whole on London basically in a cake and he's life in the cake. Not much really, but it looks disturbed, it has three levels of his life, and it was even alarmed and he had a funky car and a little Tinie Tempah inside. Plus, visually stunning and quirky, if you haven't seen this, I would highly recommend it.
Whoopi Goldberg Challenge
Now am a huge Whoopi fan, and this challenge wasn't as easy as you thought. Whoopi Goldberg was hosting a party in celebration to the Mayor of New York. So, the Choccy team decided to give it everything, this new your had a King Kong, the statue of Liberty was the Mayor of New York and we even see a little Whoopi Goldberg chillin' as she does in New York. The entire cake represents New York and when thinking about it that in itself is a challenge, you want to get the iconic buildings and environment of New York without being offensive or too simple. This cake hit all the cues of perfection of what a cake should look like.
What's The Bottom Line?
Choccywoccydoodah Starstruck for me....shows that cake doesn't have to be plain and boring. Choccywoccydoodah presents cake in a way that it's an art form, beauty and I always get a tear and probably the team get a tear when it comes apart, but they know the strikes that imagination into the hearts of other chocolate lovers. So, what is the bottom line? Choccywoccydoodah Starstruck is for fun loving, chocolate loving and art loving people and it's a must watch if you want those creative juices flowing and that's the bottom line.
