What's The Bottom Line with Creator and Artist Model Gaz Johnson?!?!

Gaz Johnson Figures

Introduction

Gaz Johnson is one of my favourite artists when it comes to his artwork. He is based in Bagillt, and he works from work but he wants to buy a shed because his artwork involves mould?!?! What artwork involves MOULD?!?! WELL, I'll tell you! Gaz Johnson's business, is that he makes custom bespoke figures from movies, TV, music, entertainment and comic characters! The scales he works in are from 1:6 (12") and 1:4 (18"). The figures comes with fabric costumes, depending on what they are, some don't have clothing as you'll see such as aliens or werewolves....Come on people! Werewolves don't wear clothes! Only in Teen Wolf. Which we accept was a film let's move on! But, he makes them from faux fur sheets, glued onto the figure in layers, so the figures are still pose-able. He makes the figures because he is similar to me with passion of films, TV and music and you'll see this in his artwork! And, it started as a hobby because he loved collecting these figures for numerous years. Then, because why haven't we seen these? Companies stop making them, so what did Gaz Johnson do?!?!?! He start making them. So, let's see what Gaz Johnson has made!!!!

Custom Art Bespoke Figures

1. Alice Cooper

What could Gaz Johnson do then rock out with the one and only Alice Cooper! The detail is perfect on the facial expression it screams out Alice Cooper! Look at the detail on the attire thou, it's one of Alice Cooper's trade mark outfits. But, am more surprise and delighted on the detail because most people don't go all out on figures like this one. But, you truly see the person, the character of who is Alice Cooper, a rocking legend! And, plus we know from the introduction that Gaz Johnson loves what he is creating and since this is the first figure we have seen, Gaz spot on!

2. Yul Brynner from The Magnificent Seven

Am just a little too young for this, but my Mom and Dad did play this DVD once and I do remember who this is. The detail again, spot on. University level, I haven't seen this much detail in a figure in some time. Clearly, Gaz does do his research and he does look into every inch of the character and costume. Plus, I have seen figures that don't nail that hat, I know it seems silly but seen trilbies in a figure that's suppose to be in the west! But, no Gaz once again has nailed the cow boy era!

3. Beast from X-men

The point before I say anything, The Beast is one of my favourite under rated X-Men characters in history! He has the skill of .... well a BEAST! But, he actually has huge intelligence! He is like a young Professor X and young Wolverine. Yeah, lots of big huge non-open minded Marvel fans could rip me apart for saying this. BUT, think about it. Young Professor Xavier had a time where he didn't use his powers, and Wolverine didn't use his claws. So, there! But, let's not study the figure for a second but the environment! It's spot on for the Beast. Gaz thought, The Beast is different lets put him where he belongs, in the wild! And, the fact that he has that aggressive side coming out of the animal The Beast!

4. Arnold Schwarzenegger as Matrix from Commando

Fantastic, I have to admit that....Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of a kind face that is quite hard to get right. Mainly, because of the facial expressions but again Gaz Johnson got it right. If you haven't seen the Commando or even Predator you wouldn't really see Arnold Schwarzenegger full potential of action packed film. That's my opinion, I class Terminator as a Sci-fi film with some action. But, all out action I have to admit that the detail is great, the costume that Arnie wore for the film is spot on, and the guns are hold as good old Arnie would do.

5. Beta Ray Bill from Thor comics

If you're not a Thor fan you may or may not know who this is. But, if you want one reference to Beta Ray Bill watch Planet Hulk. Yeah, I know random but he's there. He is like a wise warrior in that film, and he knows Thor I don't know the relationship at all but he kicks butt! So, am taking the figure from what I picture from Planet Hulk. Little tiny things, the armour I remember it gold, but as I said I don't know comics more film base so he could of got his golden armour later on. The hammer however is spot on, you know Thor's hammer?!?! Well, this is like this. So, you can picture the whole strength, stragety and above all awesomeness of this character. I would say he got the presence and the character perfect and that's coming from a Marvel fanatic.

6. Rob Bottin as Blake from The Fog

I think it's the fact that it's showing the fog. Which, don't get me wrong for most figure makers or any artist they have to think how to make it look good and not stupid. And, Gaz got it right by making it dark and not stupid. Rob Bottin as Blake is fantastic in The Fog, and the costume is great, the blade is fantastic. I have to admit that I haven't seen the film in some time, but this figure made me remember of how brilliant it truly is.

7. Pinhead & Chatterer from Hellraiser

Most Horror fans will drop to there knees and hope for salvation if they see this! Pinhead!!! and Chatterer!! Let's start with the main guy, the big macho of the Hellraiser of Pinhead. I have a bobble head, I just love the character and we do and don't know much about Pinhead it depends of how much you have seen of Hellraiser because there's more than 4 films! I think there's 6 or 8 films. The detail is beautiful, the costume is fantastic and clear, plus you have to admire the pins in the head of the detail. Then, we have Chatterer a quite disgusting character of the bunch I think, he is a cross of human/animal and demon if I would have to class anything. But, Chatterer is perfect and I think the only thing giving it away of it's human is the fingers. It appears human, but it's truly greatly detailed.

8. The Bride of Frankenstein

Probably one of the most well known Horror characters in history. The Bride of Frankenstein was a sequel into one of the most well known horror films in history Frankenstein. We have to admit the bride's outfit is fitting for any corpses. The hair style is spot on truly keeping in memory to the classic film and the eye brows and eyes, I know it sounds ridiculous but you can't deny the detail and the research done into the outfit and the figure. She has the presence of mystery, darkness and beauty which is the requirements of the Bride of Frankenstein.

9.The Black Scorpion

From figures to animals, well same figure issue but Gaz Johnson decides to do a monstrous and poisonous creator of a Black Scorpion. The fact of the picture, giving it the heightened of not an ordinary scorpion. But, it's a giant scorpion! There has been a few films with references to huge scorpions and the fact you see the detail and the scales of the scorpion to give it that huge ambition of a  non-stopping killing machine.

10. Harry Warden from My Bloody Valentine

This was a remake I believe from another film called "My Bloody Valentine" but I have to admit I do like the modern version. It's unusual, it's gripping and it has a tale or two to get you're teeth stuck in. Harry Warden was a miner, but turns out he's a murderer psychopath too! Go figure it's a horror film! But, you can't deny the fact that Gaz Johnson looked into the miner himself then the killer, and having that classic pick axe, and the attire and costume is dark and worn, which can be sometimes hard to portray in your artwork.

11. Master Splinter from Ninja Turtles cartoon 2003

Recently watched the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and I still love Splinter, he's one of those characters you just can not like! He is a farther figure, fighting machine and one with himself! We are looking at the cartoon version, of when he worn his ropes. And, we mainly know him in some form of rags and off course his bamboo stick! The eyebrows are fantastic, because it shows him his age, his mastery and off course his wisdom. Then, we have the simple rags, which could be too simple but Splinter is a simple character for looking at. But, we can admit that simply to look at, but a butt kicking machine a great balance.

12. Spider-Man 2099

Spider-Man, Spider-Man does whatever a Spider can! This is brilliant, we have yet to seen this futuristic version of the Spider-Man but I think we will see it in about 20/30 years. Plus, I love the fact he added the webbed wings and you can see this detail in the outfit, the mask effect of this futuristic Spider-Man is greatly detailed, no smudges, no runs, all exactly to the letter. You can truly see, that Gaz Johnson is a lover of comic books because you see his love of comics/films through his figures, being so detailed like the comics shows the passion.

13. Liam Neeson as Darkman

It annoys me that I still haven't seen this film! But, I certain know who Liam Neeson is!!! But, knowing that and the simple story of the film Darkman, I know looking at the figure, there is a glimpse of Darkman and of Liam Neeson in there. The detail on the make up on the face is perfect, the detail to the burnt hands are incredibly detailed! The rags on the other hand scattered. The coat, rugged and worn and the shirt showing some form of business man. So, we can decide that Liam Neeson is the Darkman. But, Gaz Johnson truly portrayed his character into every inch of this mould figure.

14. Ghostface from Scream

Makes me laugh, I never think of this as a horror film, always makes me laugh. But, looking at Scream/Ghostface we can admit that it could be taken as a simple character. But, Gaz Johnson truly made who is Ghostface come to life! We can see that Ghostface is running towards his victim from the robes running off him and the knife ready to strike! Gives every horror fan a shiver of seeing Ghostface running towards them.

15. Kane Hodder as Victor Crowley from the film Hatchet

I have to admit, that Hatchet is one of those horror films you do have to sit in the dark. And, I do remember Victor Crowley, I mean look at that face! They didn't hold back on the horror or the special effects to the costume and amke up. The detail is spot on, the gruesome figure with a blood stained axe, shows the murderous lust of blood rushing through his vains.

16. Ghostrider

Still I think anyway, a quite an underrated Marvel character. We have seen him in Marvel films but hasn't got that 10 out of 10, I hope they do a remake and have more of a better actor to play Ghostrider. But, I love Ghost rider from X-Men, Hulk, and Marvel animation TV shows and films. You do get glimpses of this and you do feel the burns from this figure. And, you see the steel chain and the bone skull burnt to flames. You can, truly see the heavy metal, bike riding hero in this figure.

17. Nemesis from Resdient Evil 3

Love the video games and the films, but you truly see the heighten of who is Nemesis right here in this figure. I actually had to look twice to see it's a figure!!! The gruesome eye, the wiggly tenticles, the horrible skin just layered on. It truly makes Nemesis one of those characters in the Resident Evil film to think twice. It's not all, "OH NO BAD GUY!!!". But, we can truly see the whole concept of seeing Nemesis for the first time not knowing who he really is. However, the back story is fantastic, if you haven't seen it yet.....WATCH IT!

18. The Fly 1958

I have seen and loved this film, I mainly notice it from a Simpsons episode of a Treehouse of Horror. I notice Simpsons rips everything off, so we can truly appreciate how much effort and also various characters of figures that Gaz Johnson truly does. I love the Fly, I htink ot make it look like a fly then an alien, is truly making it appear as a fly, if the head is wrong, then it all falls apart. The coat is simple which I like, because I think Gaz Johnson wanted the presence of the 1958 film era, they couldn't afford the special effects or didn't even have what they have back then! So, simple but to the point figure is always great to see.

19. Frank the Bunny from Donnie Darko

What can I say about this figure?!?! Well, let's be honest if you have seen Donnie Darko you'll understand this character, if you haven't you just be thinking "WHAT ON EARTH?!?!". But, even when you watch Donnie Darko it leaves you like that "What on Earth just happened?" It's one of those films, where you just lay back and go what? I love this figure because, it actually reminded me of a certain scene from Donnie Darko the film. The eyes of the bunny....and Gaz Johnson has got that creepy era about Frank the Bunny and that slanted ear, simple fur colour, remember he uses fur and mould and this is truly stunning.

20. Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street

Has to be said one of my favourite Horror characters of all time! 1, 2 FREDDIE'S COMING FOR YOU! It truly is a horror film that expanded the horror industry of film making. As we know, Robert Englund is the iconic actor that plays Freddy Kruegar. But, that's not all, Robert Englund's movie career hit extremely high when the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise hit. I just love the outfit, the weapon, the detailed into the facial expression because of the back story of Freddy Kruegar and the fact the top is huge now at Halloween. It's black and red, either Dennis the Meance for kids, or off course Freddy Kruegar a perfect figure to have.

21. Wolverine from X-Men

The most well known of the X-Men team and universe, Wolverine is hugely poplar and extremely watchable, Hugh Jackman plays Wolverine off course in the Marvel films. From X-Men (1,2,3), X-Men Days of Future Past, Wolverine and even X-Men First Class. Hugh Jackman is Wolverine, some actors are afraid of type cast, but you can't deny no one else can play this character. But, the outfit of this Wolverine I would love to see a dark version of it in the films. It's the classic, comic and the cartoon series of Wolverine, and it's just absolutely screams out the animal.

22. Elliot Salem from Army of Two

Didn't fully love the game as my top 3, but it's in the top 10! But, I have to admit that this is a brilliant figure. The fantastic smallest detail into the mask, the tattoos are phenomenal, the costume is fantastic! The prop of the gun is flawless. You can't deny, that it's just a gamers dream.

23. Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th part 8

Final figure of Gaz Johnson, let's finish on a brilliant horror character, Jason Voorhees "Mother?!?" The mask is stunning, keeping to the original idea. The outfit is brilliant and off course it hugely amounts into the darkness, creepiness, straight forward and then subconsciously psychological scarred. It's one of those figures all horror fans would want to buy.

Why Look At Gaz Johnson?

Check him out! These figures are fantastic, and there's more!!! He does a professional job at these figures and I feel when you buy a figure, you have a piece of history and love from a creator which all buyers would want. And, the fact that he started off as a hobby collecting them and now making them truly makes the items all the more special to get.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

If you don't know who Gaz Johnson is, here's the bottom line, he's been spotted by others, he is getting known and I know for a fact, we will be hearing him, much much more! So, get searching and get looking who is Gaz Johnson and that's the bottom line.
