First Impressions Before Seeing The TV Series?

You know what, I knew absolutely nothing about this TV series. Nothing at all. The main reason I thought, I watch it was because I saw Mark Boone Junior on Hell's Kitchen on the chef's table. So, when I think about what one of the chefs said about this actor I thought. I should look into this TV series and see what's the dealio about the TV Series. Oh, and I knew it was about a biker gang.... nothing else. That's it! I didn't know who else was in the TV series or what they do or why they do it. So, my first expectations was that I wasn't expecting much I know it was popular so I might like it. And, when I was searching for the cast as I do when looking for a blog I saw recommending Breaking Bad quite highly. So, I love Breaking Bad so I thought I will really enjoy Sons of Anarchy. So, let's lock and load and see what's the big deal.

After I Watched The TV Series?

Wow, this is AWESOME. I didn't know RON PERLMAN was in it! And, he still plays a bad-ass in this too haha. It's actually quite realistic considering it's a bikers gang and the fact that it's not your typical biker's gang like you see in "Wild Hogs". It's more business, it's a business bikers. Plus, I like how we see the whole gang as well and I like the whole twists and turns that happens and I don't mean on the bike either! Plus, I like the bike gang in general 'Sons of Anarchy' what it means and they aren't stupid. I don't like that word, but there not stupid. The gang is actually quite intelligent they think of the moves before they do it. Plus, I can see the similarities it has like Breaking Bad, they have quite unique characters and situations and I have to say that the TV show isn't just all action packed and guns blazing! There's very soft and emotional scenes and quite a bit of clashing as you would ge tin a gang!

Why Should You Give This TV Show A Shot?

If you like TV shows like Breaking Bad, because to me it has some similar qualities I would highly recommend it. You see how gangs suppose to be and how they are in and out of the 'clubhouse'. Plus, you get to see who's in charge and what they have to do and how they stay behind bars!. So, I would say to anyone to give it ago. The comedy is like Orange is the New Black but the drama is like Breaking Bad.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

Like the mafia on wheels, hauling guns, wearing tats and breaking rules watch it. And, that's the bottom line!

My Rankings

Well IMDB users actually gave this an 8.7 and I agree with this but I can't find fault in the TV Series. I have to give it a 10 out of 10. I am on Episode 6 now, and I am still enjoying the twists and turns that are happening in the show. MY theory so far is, the gang is more than family but even family have secrets... Which Film And TV Characters Wouldn't Do The Ice Bucket Challenge?

Introduction

I recently just done the Ice Bucket Challenge and I have donated. However, I thought I research and actually have some of my own names that wouldn't do the ice bucket challenge, willingly shall we say. The television ones are my own ideas, the films one I found the names but no explanation. But, when you see who they are I can see why you don't need a explanation!

Films

Carrie White from Carrie 

Considering what she had to go through, a bucket full of blood being slowly poured onto her, I don't think she would ever pour an ice bucket over her head! Carrie White is from the film Carrie, recently found out there's actually three remakes into this film. Check them out. But, she has very strange powers and personally I think she wanted to be accepted. But, was bullied and the iconic scene of a bucket full of blood being poured onto you. Don't get me wrong, but I know for a fact I wouldn't go near a bucket after that and make sure if I see one I crush them haha.

The Wicked Witch from Wizard of Oz

This one doesn't need much reasoning. But, if you've seen the Wizard of Oz you'll know full well that a bucket of water melts her, so maybe the ice bucket would melt her more painfully!. As we know, Dorothy throws a bucket of water all over the Wicked Witch for her broom and to give to the wizard. So, if I was the Wicked Witch I make sure I live near a volcano so water and especially ice isn't possible!

Gizmo from Gremlins

Don't feed it after midnight and whatever you do don't get it wet. Imagine the ice bucket challenge! I think they would be a Gremlin just a more spikier and dangerous creature haha but still have a laugh with. But, sure lets see Gizmo take the ice bucket challenge, what could possible go wrong?!?!

Truman Burbank from The Truman Show

If you haven't seen this film, we know that Truman Burbank (played by Jim Carrey) is afraid of water, won't say why but considering the only water he touches is the shower, bath or drinking from a bottle I really doubt he would even go near a bucket full of ice because his fear was that great in the film. If you haven't seen it, it's a must see Jim Carrey film.

Jason Voorhees from Friday The 13th

Another horror figure, as you know if you watch Freddy vs Jason or the other Friday the 13th films he drowned in a lake. So, he is highly afraid of water which you see in the films. There's a tip then, if Jason Voorhees is coming after you just get on a boat and wait in the middle of the lake. Unless, mommy tells him too.

Television

Father Jack Hackett from Father Ted

There's actually a scene taking place in Summer because there talking about there vacation and the two fathers Father Ted and Father Dougal get freaked out because they thought it was Father Jack's bath time. But, he had it in December....So, Father Jack would never ever do an ice bucket challenge....maybe if it was whiskey, Jack Daniels or women's knickers in the bucket. But, ice water I doubt it. And, the fact he wasn't a donating kind either he would probably fill the bucket with spiders and pour on Father Ted! Poor, Father Ted!

Albert Steptoe from Steptoe and Son

He fused to take baths, even when he smelled like...well a dump really. Albert Steptoe who's one line everyone knows from was "HARRROLDDD". But, he refuse all baths and hygiene at any rates. He would never do an ice bucket challenge he would make Harold do it by guilt tripping him as he does!.

Mick Carter from Eastenders

One of the newest characters on the scene Mick Carter, we discover that he is afraid of water and he has issues with water. So, Mick Carter wouldn't be do the ice bucket challenge unless he feels as if he is letting people down. But, I dunno it would be interesting because he likes to conquer his fears.

Dalek from Doctor Who

The main reason I put a Dalek wouldn't do the ice bucket challenge because come on..... he has no hands to be able to throw the ice bucket challenge. A Dalek does take baths, doesn't shower! I mean come on it would EXTERMINATE the bucket 5 miles away from it.

Snowball II from The Simpsons 

As you remember, Cats don't like water. And, Snowball in the Simpsons fought and fight Lisa getting in the sink or bath full of water and then cue Santa's Little Helper to chase Snowball II and boom Lisa is in the bath instead, Lisa is always trying thou! I give her that!

What's The Bottom Line?

If you're not a demon child, afraid of water, multiple into creatures when water hits you or you will physically melt into a pool like a snowman melting in the sun, then gives this ALS Ice Bucket Challenge a chance and donate doesn't have to be to that charity if you don't want to. Donate to a charity that makes you comfortable and that's the bottom line.

What's The Bottom Line with Music?

Music? What Happens If It Never Existed?

Introduction

This blog...is about music. Funny enough....and it's not looking at any artists, creators or masters. I am looking at the very idea of just music. And, what music does to us as humanity. But, also looking at the end of how I would sum up music.

What Music Does To Our Brains! No, It's Not Brainwashing....

Time. Right think about it, when I go to the doctors or hospital I listen to music and it feels like it doesn't take that long or I've not been there long. But, in reality it has been. That's because music changes our abilities of how we perceive time. Plus, when I think about it places that play music you don't think your there for a long time so like when you shop. So, HMV play music and I don't feel am there for a long time because music is acquiring that time so I take my time because of the music. MAKES YOU STRONGER! No, it's not Taylor Swift time but it makes you stronger. When we go doing our runs, music actually helps us to keep up with the music and mentally music is a fantastic way of memories as well it helps repair damage brain cells. If you want to link this to a film...Rise of the Planet of the Apes uses music as an example to help people with memory loss. Music can re-connect or re-image an event or memory in our brains from a past event. Plus, when we hear happy or sad music we see others are being that as well through neutral faces. But, the one I like the most about music is that with ambient noise it helps us become more creative. And, with music we can determine our personality our identities which usually occurs. I found somewhere that would break this down for all of us to understand:

• Blues fans have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoing, gentle and at ease
• Jazz fans have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoing and at ease
• Classical msuic fans have high self-esteem, are creative, introvert and at ease
• Rap fans have high self-esteem and are out going
• Opera fans have high self-esteem, are creative and gentle
• Country and western fans are hardworking and outgoing
• Reggae fans have high self-esteem, are creative, not hard working, out going, gentle and at ease
• Dance fans are creative and outgoing but not gentle
• Indie fans have low self-esteem, are creative, not hard working, and not gentle
• Bollywood fans are creative and outgoing
• Rock/Heavy metal fans have low self-esteem, are creative, not hard working, not outgoing, gentle and at east
• Chart pop fans have high self-esteem, are hardworking, outgoing, gentle, but are not creative and not at ease. 
• Soul fans have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoing, gentle and at ease. 

This is a scientist research findings, I don't agree with some of it. But, if you drive and listen to music a study shown that they make more mistakes, drive more aggressively and to be safer in the car if you want to listen to music you listen to something unfamiliar and unusual to your ears. AND, finally on the brain and interesting fact from a small study that if you listen to classical, instrumental music visually you give visual sites of what you see mainly more attention....No wonder Sherlock listened to opera all the time! 

Seven Ways Where Music Effects The Body?

1. Repairs Brain Damage (been there about that)
2. Gets rid of an addiction
3. Boosts your immune system
4. Prevent seizures
5. Return Lost Memories (mentioned that)
6. Increases Spatial Reasoning
7. Cure Parkinsons?

(2) I can understand that, I have seen people when listening to music helps them quit smoking for example, because there main core is concentrating to the music or mellowing out to the music. So, I can see music helping quit an addiction because it helps us to keep going because of the inspirational words in music, or the tempo of the music. 

(3) I couldn't find the factors in this but some studies show it is possible because of how music makes you feel. 

(4) Mozart anybody? That's one of the musicians that can help us stop getting seizures if you listen to it for the first five minutes. It works I THINK on like 5% of us but it's an interesting factor to consider. 

(7) I looked abit at this, and I would actually search this yourself because I found it quite interesting to read and an example that I found nice is, when you notice in your room when you listen to music your foot taps or your head moves left to right ya know?

Music Has Soul Power!

"Music is unquestionably a powerful force. The human race couldn't really survive without it because of the great effect it has upon us. It influences the individual, the home, the community, the nation and the entire world. I would challenge you in saying that the most influential leaders are not the politicians and the royal families, but it is really the music artists that are leading the world. But that's another argument."

But, Music has Soul Power? No, it's not an 80s song but think about it. When we listen to feel good songs, we feel good so maybe music does have this spirituality about it. The karma and destiny when we feel like a certain type of music we pick that music and its boosts are emotions or in this case are soul.

What Does Music Mean To You?

How Would I Define Music? 

I would say, Music is a universal language we do or don't need to understand it but we feel through music. We feel mixture or neutral emotions and Music states what kind of people we are. Music has a play button, but we choose when to skip, rewind or change. Music is quite close to humans. Music changes when we change in our personality, music adapts, music has different moods. Music can be as bright as the sun or as darkening as the sky at night. Music can be a silly song or a happy song. Music doesn't have to be lyrical or instrumental, only to be heard or forever lost. Therefore, music is alive and can die when we stop listening. And, that's music.

Bottom Line?

Personally, I like a whole range of music. I like experimental music, popular music, instrumental music. But, everybody is different therefore music is portrayed differently to each individual, so music means different things to different people. Like, some people don't like Miley Cyrus and some people do. And, that's the bottom line, not the Miley Cyrus bit more the individuality bit.

What's The Bottom Line With Tim Burton?

Tim Burton?

Introduction

During this blog, I won't be looking at the man Tim Burton but more the idea behind the man. Looking at some of his, what people have created and looking at his films as well. Tim Burton no doubt has a very unique style of film, it's something we haven't seen before. From Beetlejuice and Batman to Coraline and Dark Shadows he truly is a masterpiece in the film industry and the art industry as well. His art is absurd...no kidding right! But, let's explore these ideas and lets see what we come up with.

Movies

No he didn't do the Avengers, I found this thou really interesting because we see the Avengers as these powerful superheroes but think about in the Tim Burton universe how would it stand there? I think whoever drew these was spot on with the designs of the Avengers because they are quite accurate. But, let's draw to the next one the Johnny Depp image. We all know from movies that Johnny Depp has appeared and wondered are film screens with films such as Sleepy Hollow, Alice in Wonderland, Dark Shadows, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd! But, it's nice seeing this image because it shows that Johnny Depp actually in real life are great friends with Tim Burton. And, this four dimensions of Johnny Depp from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland and I believe Edward Scissorhands is quite nice. I think when think about Johnny Depp are thoughts do cross to Tim Burton films. But, Tim Burton has done films without Johnny Depp like Mars Attack, Batman, Beetlejuice, Batman Returns, Pee-Wee Adventures, Planet of the Apes and even James and the Giant Peach! and even his most famous cartoon film....Disney's Nightmare Before Christmas. But, we have to admit they are all very unique films in general but they all have something in common. They are, quite absurd or unusual films even Planet of the Apes but when I was watching this film I didn't think of Tim Burton it was quite Sci-Fi not like Mars Attack because that had lots of comedy elements. But, I think Tim Burton when he does films he uses his imagination. Let's be honest his imagination his very unique it's like a disturbing and yet child like mind. When we think of his films, they are quite playful and creative. 

Art

 To the film to the art itself. Here we are looking at two of his actual art from himself. The first one on your left is basically a body exploding but full of colour. Quite dark and yet comforting I find it. Even thou, clearly the body is being utterly destroyed there is beauty in that with the colours so maybe it's showing that in death there is a sense of adventure or some form of hope? But, I notice Tim Burton drawing are quite slim most I have looked at so we can argue that image isn't as important in his mind as in the figure. The next one, I can't really decide what it is. It's the red and white stripe top with blue jeans. I think, it's suppose to demonstrate the punky kids with the hair style and the leather jacket. But, there's just something about it that draws us to it. The legs showing how tight the jeans are! But, also the horrid nose maybe because punks do get into fights showing the torture of them!

Now, lets look below at some of the creations that people in the real world draw. I like the first image it's from the Nightmare Before Christmas and basically they completely swapped genders and you know what it's hot. They really used a lot of detail in this picture. We can see that people have changed the whole Jack Skellington and make it more sexier and feminine because I think some people actually question, what if Jack was a female and Sally as a male? Honestly, I can see it working and I am actually quite surprised at how well someone designed these two. Plus, it sticks with the whole creepiness that Tim Burton portrays into his work but keeps the same comfortability that we are accustomed too. Then, we have a very interesting Mad Hatter. This was a painting from someone who did the Mad Hatter. As we can see it's a sad character and with the paint falling down in the image we can see that the Mad Hatter himself is falling and fading as well. Plus, it shows the corruptness and the harshness of being the Mad Hatter which is what I THINK Tim Burton tried demonstrating in his film.

What Does He Teach Us?

I think when we watch his films, just go with me on this. He shows us are individuality, we can become more creative, we can explore different types of things and not try and stick to one thing. But, when I say through his films and art shows our individuality we can always see his playfulness it in. Try experimenting and try exploring. For example, Beetlejuice in Beetlejuice. Think about, he is the crazy mad man, with a sense of humour, a warped one if that and he is a big huge kid. But, he tries different things out, he is this strange being that finds pleasure in seeing people in fear. So, saying that maybe Tim Burton wants us to explore how we feel and then demonstrate how we feel by being creative maybe? Creativity is an illusion, it's the realisation of BEING creativity is when we make the first step. The images around show how from Tim Burton's imagination we two have been more creative and more out going in our art work. From physically becoming the presence of the well known Jack Skellington, to the realistic work of a real Sally and Jack Skellington, to the comedy of Tim Burton's iconic characters being little Minions. And, even Tim Burton art has reached Pokemon as well! And even Cake! It's creative, it's inspiring his work which has led others to do the same.

Overall

Tim Burton continues to inspire, shock, entertain and open are eyes with his creations. He is one of my favourite directors for his uniqueness and he actually demonstrates that being different isn't the issue, it's the world surrounding us that has the difficulty accepting that. And, that's the bottom line.

What's The Bottom Line with Captain America: The Winter Solider?

First Impressions Before Seeing The Film?

I love Marvel films, I am actually quite interested in how Captain America behaves with Shield and Nick Fury because there's always that tension with them. Considering, Steve Rogers is working with a completely new modern age law enforcement. Plus, am interested to see if Black Widow and Captain America's relationship is going to go up a bit. Because, if you see in the comics, past cartoon films they are actually an item and have a kid! Plus, I was looking at the cast and I never heard of The Winter Solider... I know right, I love Marvel and I try to understand as much villains as I can. But, where villains are in Marvel I go into Spider Man a bit more, Iron Man and the Hulk. But, I have never come across the Winter Solider so am looking forward to him and his costume too. Anthony Mackie plays Falcon in the film which am really excited about I remember seeing the Falcon in a TV Cartoon series of I think The Incredible Hulk or the cartoon series of Captain America. Plus, am actually looking forward to see if Nick Fury has any action in the film as well because all we have seen is the simple stands and shoots.

After I Watched The Film?

I love this film. It explains the situations between how Captain America feels for Shield, his life and what he wants to do. We see new faces like The Falcon and The Head of Shield and we also see old faces like Black Widow and Nick Fury. I quite like this film because it shows how Shield is actually like it's own government. Plus, we get to see a really old villain which I won't mention whom we see before which was nice to see. As well, I like the fighting and the gun action in the film and how complex it would of have to be to get it spot on. I like how we actually see Nick Fury as a proper spy with the guns and we get to see something awesome from him! Plus, we actually see Falcon for the first time I THINK, I haven't seen Iron Man 2 yet because I nod off at the beginning! But, it's nice seeing Falcon in a film. And, we also see Black Widow not only as a spy that we know her from the Avengers Assemble we see her doing her spy work, her fighting skills. Black Widow herself is a mystery because we don't really know her, which is why am looking forward in seeing 'Black Widow' in the next few years to discover more about her. Plus, I like this film as well because there is twists and turns and it's not just Captain America The Winter Solider, a Marvel action film....it's much more than that. It demonstrates the Marvel Universe and how in certain environments it can change and alter.

Was This A Good Sequel?

As we know, the first film was more about setting up the character and the story of Captain America. So, could this be a good sequel to the first one? Honestly, I find it better! We see Captain America more in action, more him as Captain America of how we are use to seeing him. Yes, in the first film we had a HUGE villain. But, this film does have it's villains too. I think it's a great equal to the first film. I would of thought they be more spy work, but was made up by more action packed scenes which I liked. Overall, I would say it's an equal drawn to the first film. Great sequel, highly recommend it to the Marvel fans. AND, I do think Chris Evans does play an excellent Captain America then a Human Torch.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

If you like Captain America, Nick Fury, Black Widow and all the Marvel universe in general with those Stan Lee cameos I would say....Must watch, and that's the bottom line right there.

Tips If Watching The Film?

1. Stan Lee's cameo was just hilarious! 
2. Actually watch the film and think when it's done what more could there be? There is already talk about Captain America 3 it's set! So, think what's next? 
3. Always, watch the Easter Eggs at the end...really opens to what's next.
4. Didn't 3 just answer 2? Hmmm....

My Rankings

IMDB users all together, have rated this film a solid 8 for great, I would go that tiny step further for a 9. Simply because, I felt like this film needed something else. More spy stuff, more creativity maybe in some fighting scenes. But, overall a fantastic Marvel film.
