10 Ideal Tim Burton Films That Should Be Made?

Introduction

This blog is all about looking at 10 ideal Tim Burton films that he should make, I know what you're thinking.... There's so many films out there where could you start? And, would it be right for the Tim Burton style? This is purely opinion, but I have been looking into Tim Burton's history, his films and his actors that he likes to use in films like Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman etc; So, this is mind we could have some form of understanding of what kind of films Tim Burton would suit in. So, enough of the theories lets make them form into something wonderful with our first film.....Oliver!?!?!

Oliver! (1968)

If you haven't seen this yet, I would highly recommend it for musical lovers and the lovers of this era. Now, before I go into why I chose this film remember Sweeney Todd? Tim Burton did a remake of that film, and that was based in London. It's very similar to the Oliver! because of the work houses, high and lower community etc. However, I would highly recommend Tim Burton to do this film because it wouldn't just be Oliver!. My ideal film, would be seeing Faggin and who he really is and played by Johnny Depp. Just look at Faggin at the top and look at Johnny Depp.....You can't deny make up could do wonders for the character. Tim Burton would give it another angle to the musical keeping to some classic songs but making it more darker and creepy but in a way family audiences can still enjoy. Plus, if you don't know your history London times back then were scary, dark and quite disgusting to live in so Tim Burton can just literally pop the set out. However, who would play Bill Sykes?!?! He's the Godfather of crooks and thieves. Before I say anything, think Bill Sykes quite a tough guy, rouge, inhumane, but in a sense of charm, manipulative sense about him..... I would actually pick Alan Rickman. Not my first choice, however he could bring a different look to Bill Sykes that we haven't seen yet. Then, Nancy played by Helena Bonham Carter to give Nancy instead of the looks and guts she had to over due it and give it a new look. 

Mary Poppins (1964)

Now, apparently this all started as an April Fools Joke.....However, apparently now this is in the works as one of Tim Burton's films. Mary Poppins, now we know Mary Poppins as Julie Andrews but this poster truly shows something different about Mary Poppins. And, it's quite interesting that the two top characters are Cate Blanchett and Sam Riley....No where is there, Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham Carter moving away what we think Tim Burton is made of. Yes, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are quite close friends but it doesn't mean Johnny Depp isn't in this film! I could see Sam Riley being  Bert because he has that look about him and then Mr. Banks could be played by Johnny Depp. I could see this Mary Poppins without the kids in it but having Mary Poppins work more on the dad since we seen Saving Mr. Banks we kind of understand that Mr. Banks is a portrait of the author's dad in real life. Plus, I could actually see Tim Burton keeping the animation for the penguins part and making it more dark and less like a dream land more of a wonderland. 

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988)

I am just going to come out and say it, this is ideal for Tim Burton. I mean, it's dark already with murders, wacky slapstick and violence, I mean Tim Burton could give this film something completely different. The title Who Framed Roger Rabbit? It's a two way deal of animation and live action combine, keeping with the adaptation of classic animation like the Disney cartoons, but Tim Burton could really make it to a new level, still keeping with the Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit designs and making something completely different. However, it's very unlikely we will ever see a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? remake or sequel because it's such an iconic classic live cross over animation film with the comedy, the script writing, the villains it was genius and it wouldn't really work in today's society. 

 

Dennis The Menace (1993)

Before I go on, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and this version of Dennis the Menace have something in common. Christopher Lloyd. In Who Framed Roger Rabbit? he played a character called Judge Doom and in Dennis the Menace he plays another villain called 'Switchblade Sam' which you don't hear in the film but that's his name under the IMDB. Now, Tim Burton could do something wonderful with Dennis the Menace, it could go a number of ways. It could be an angle with, Mr. Wilson actually is the menace and like seeing Dennis getting into loads of trouble! And, Dennis had enough and got his own back on him. Could be an iconic world war between Mr. Wilson and Dennis the Menace. However, we could see Switchblade Sam slightly more and Dennis the Menace learning the tricks of the trades sort to speak from Switchblade Sam until a point where Switchblade could be the hero. There's always two sides to so many stories, so be interesting to see such a comical yet evil person like Switchblade Sam to become something more....maybe a hero for the community in stopping Dennis the Menace. Switchblade Sam personally would be played by Johnny Depp and Mr. Wilson as Alan Rickman, the parents of Dennis the Menace Helena Bonham Carter and Michael Keaton. However, the child am leaving in the air because it has to be someone that can fit that character and in the world and mind of Tim Burton. 

 

Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)

Now, if you've seen the Disney's version of Hunchback of Notre Dame you can already have some form of ideas of how dark and creepy Tim Burton could do with something like Hunchback of Notre Dame. However, who would play who?!?! Firstly, you have the star Quasimodo....personally I would give it to not Johnny Depp, but Alan Rickman keeping with the Tim Burton tradition. But, switching the roles to give it something people wouldn't expect. Then, Claude Frollo the villain of the piece, to Johnny Depp because I feel with Tim Burton, Johnny Depp has never had a villain role and for this film he would suit that chemistry. Because, Esmeralda would be played by Helena Bonham Carter. Now, here's why it would work and you can't deny this. In Sweeney Todd, Helena Bonham Carter's character was madly in love with Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp), in Alice in Wonderland when Helena Carter played Queen of Hearts you could see some comedy chemistry with the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp). But, what if Johnny Depp's character actually gives the romance and effort into a love interest say if he played Claude Frollo you would see that awkward chemistry because of how Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp work together. Finally, the gargoyles.....It's an interesting one but I would pick Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Jennifer Saunders..... I'll leave you with that and on to the next film.

The AristoCats (1970)

A Disney's classic that poofs from our worlds. The AristoCats. Now, if you don't know much about it.... It's about a butler that gets rid of the Duchesses cats so he would get the money and the will. They get stranded and are 'saved' by Thomas O'Mailey....O'Mailey the alley cat. Now, personally the Butler would be Alan Rickman because of his age, style and persona he would suit well. I wouldn't know for the other cats because there kittens and then there's Duchess (the cat) so need to think of someone Tim Burton hasn't really used. I could see Helena Bonham Carter being one of the goose, if you see the film you'll understand the hilarious outgoings of it all. Thomas O'Mailey is a charmer, a romantic, a comedian so that in mind for a Tim Burton movie I would pick Johnny Depp. Mainly because, we've seen him in Pirates of the Caribbean, he can portray this charm. But, I would make the overall film darker, more jazzy, less upbeat, more Nightmare Before Christmas style to give cats a true meaning to there nature, dangerous and charming all in one.

Robin Hood (1973)

Now, Robin Hood has had so many remakes from Disney to Hollywood and to our TV screens, could Tim Burton pull it off thou?!?! This is a tricky one, because you could even go two ways about this film. You could have the cast appearing like animals like Disney did, and then make it look dark and gloomy like Alice in Wonderland and make it more modern for today's society. OR, you could do what's already been done and make it a live action film. Personally, I would do the Alice in Wonderland style because the theme and set would suit Tim Burton, it's Sherwood Forest, we saw the way he could do that in Alice in Wonderland. The cast are quite straight forward, but I am not going to say who would play who. But....it's all up in the air. The characters from the Disney film were so different every single one, that it suited the animal that they were playing which I think Tim Burton would enjoy doing.

101 Dalmatians (1996)

Forget what you know about Cruella De Ville, I wouldn't call this film 101 Dalmatians, I would do what they did with Sleeping Beauty by calling it Maleficent. I would call this DeVille. Why? Let me explain, we have always seen Cruella De Ville as a dog snatching, fur coat wearing, animal lover = animal murder. And, in the animated and live action film a bit crazy. But, there must be a reason for this?! Maybe, Tim Burton do a film before she met her Dalmatians. Was there a fella in her life? I can actually see her character coming from a very poor background and a very rich and wealthy designer loved her ideas and she slowly became corrupted. Maybe, her real name isn't Cruella De Ville. Maybe, where she lived was called "Crude Ville" I think Tim Burton could bring a new light to Cruella De Ville because of her character, to this day we still don't know her past. Which for me as a Disney lover and movie lover, would love to see such an iconic villain somehow turned hero. 

The Princess and the Frog (2009)

I found this creation of Google, and I thought to myself. Yes. Yes and Yes again. Tim Burton could do wonders with The Princess and the Frog. However, I wouldn't focus on the heroine more the villain again. Dr. Facilier. He's the voodoo doctor, and I would love to see his character. Why did he get into voodoo? I know why in New Orleans because of the history New Orleans poses. However, Dr. Facilier seemed to have more history then he let on. Somehow, we could tell Dr. Facilier knew Mama Olde. Maybe, Mama Olde is her mom, imagine that Dr. Facilier and Mama Olde son and mother.....But, what went wrong?!?! Maybe, the shadow demons took Dr. Facilier and corrupted him. But, one thing is for sure. Tim Burton with the jazz infusion could make this one heck of a ride for music lovers. 

Home Alone (1990)

Now, I might get a couple of comments about "WHY REMAKE A CLASSIC?!?!?". But, hear me out.....Marv and Harry are the wet bandits.....and they are trying to rob this house with one kid in it. This one kid literally took them to school. Now, my idea that Tim Burton could do with this is make this a completely different film. What if, Marv and Harry stumble into the attic, and whilst chasing the kid fall into a rusty floor board and the house becomes alive. Instead of the idea, the kid has set the traps. What if, the house set the traps. Maybe, the kid is the one in danger....and these 'wet bandits' who happen to be the plumbers just wanted to save the kid and the authority got it all the wrong way. Imagine it thou?!?! The house fighting back against Marv and Harry literally and not theoretically. And, how it ends is that the police handcuff Marv and Harry because they don't believe the kid's story that the house fought back...... Be interesting.

What Could Tim Burton Bring To These Films?

Tim Burton has this vision, this creative mind that artist want. Tim Burton has remade Sweeney Todd and made creations that has made us go "wow" at like Mars Attack!, Beetlejuice, Batman, Batman Returns, Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I could go on and on, but one thing Tim Burton does do to his films and remakes of past films is that he keeps it fresh. He'll hit you with something new every single time, his master pieces will keep on going and growing and you'll see some marvellous creations. And, that's what I think Tim Burton can bring to the table not only keeping it fresh but making each of his films unique. 

So, What's The Bottom Line? 

This is purely opinion, this will never happen. But, the bottom line is which I want to believe is what Tim Burton says "One persons craziness is another persons reality". So, if you're a Tim Burton fan you'll understand these 10 ideal films aren't craziness but could be reality and that's the bottom line.

10 Films That Shouldn't Be Remade

Introduction

Considering we are getting Jurassic World this year, this got me thinking should they actually do remakes?!?! This is my top 10 personal opinion of what shouldn't be remade ever! I do have my reasons for each one and I will be justifying them. However, a key question near the end is.....Should they do remakes?!?! All this and more, enjoy. 

1) Spider-Man (2002-2007)

Already am sick of Spider-Man movies. Spider-Man (2002) and Spider- Man 2 (2004) was just spot on for Spider-Man fans....Then, Spider-Man 3 (2007) came into the mix and ruined the whole thing. Now, we have Amazing Spider-Man and I am being honest, I really really tried to get into this film but I shouldn't. Yes, the villains look awesome, the suit looks good, hey! he shoots web! But, it sucks! I feel they have milked it too much and apparently Spider-Man will make an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) who the hell cares?!?! Yes, he was part of the Avengers in some points, but seriously only Marvel fans that look into stuff will understand that. Who wants to randomly see Spider-Man in the Avengers film? I want to see the Avengers in the Avengers film. If not it should be Avengers: Age of Ultron and Spider-Man you know? No logic. Spider-Man is far too milked now, and I feel the origins and the villains are just bashed out there now, there's no meaning, not much story to go off. The first Spider-Man films were fantastic, now I don't want to see a Spider-Man film ever because Amazing Spider Man ruined it for me. 

2) The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

If someone says "Oh my word! This would be an amazing remake". Think again, Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins performance cannot be matched by anyone! That's a fact. This has been rated one of the most watched and best feature film ever created and it's one of the best Stephen King films out there. IMDb has rated this the number 1. film to watch. The cast as well weren't hugely known back then as well, if someone does remake this they are ruining a much beloved film that most people find entertaining. The only thing I think would be interesting, would be Red (Morgan Freeman) before meeting Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) because we never really knew his life. Plus, considering this is a 1994 film I feel special effects, camera angles, and off course they will change the ending to something else to make it a completely different film will ruin it completely. Shawshank Redemption is a very simple film, hardly no special effects, nothing major, just actors and doing what they do best 'act'. 

3) Shaun of the Dead (2004)

Now, there was a blog somewhere saying "Shaun of the Dead should be remade!" and I was like "no." Here's why, yes it's been 11 years since we have seen Simon Pegg and Nick Frost kick some zombies butt. However, there's no point. I can't visually or physically see a season why this should be remade. However, I think a sequel would be interesting seeing the zombies sometimes freak out and the zombies maybe going EH (Eating Humans) like AA. But, how it ended, the actors in the film and off course the general film were just comedy genius. So, personally Simon Pegg and Nick Frost truly made a wonderful creation with Shaun of the Dead and it should stay as a one hit wonder so it's not milked, it's just classical comedy genius for not only the British public, but for the entire world. 

4) The Goonies (1985)

Am being realistic, consider the films we have at the box office recently and in the future. We have Avengers Age of Ultron, Jurassic World, Insurgent, Big Hero 6, Fifty Shades of Grey, Horns, Chappie, Still Alice and even Shaun the Sheep Movie. Children's movies from the 80s and 90s have been remade but some work, some didn't work. This film wouldn't work simply because kids don't want to see kids find treasure and running away from goons, if you can't think of a remake that involves this try watching Home Alone: The Holiday Heist you'll understand exactly what am on about. The comedy and family atmosphere has completely change for example Maleficent in the 80s/90s that could of been classed as a 12 because of the very look of it being scary, I mean come on we were scared of Goosebumps! Which is a remake next year!. See what I mean, remakes remakes The Goonies won't suit this generation of my personal opinion.

5) V for Vendetta (2005)

How the film presented itself, V for Vendetta (which is a Marvel film) shouldn't be remade because it's how V for Vendetta should be. It's like, you don't expect the Minions to speak English in the Minions movie, they have there own language. V for Vendetta the film itself is exactly what we expected and since the certificate rating has increased through the years, I mean Robocop (1987) to Robocop (2014) is completely different to the violence, themes, profanity and off course verbal language. As a viewer of films, I feel V for Vendetta would be ruined if we remade it because there is no need and the violence factor would decreased as well and the level of violence and drama was spot on for this film.

6) Harry Potter (2001 -2011)

So, 4 years later I read a rumour that Hollywood want to remake Harry Potter series.....WHY?!? I am not being funny, but Harry Potter has had it's time on the cinema screen. I mean as you can see it's had 10 years on the screen! Isn't that enough for Hollywood? It's because it sells and they think they can squeeze more money out of us. But, what's the point? From the start to the finish we feel the film become more suitable to the age of the students (Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger), if you don't know what I mean what the very first Harry Potter (Philosophers Stone) and then watch Deathly Hallows Part 2. Completely different. Plus, we address Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter same for Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley they are type cast. Which basically means when you think of an actor you'll instantly think of that character they played like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in X-Men. But, Harry Potter has a Harry Potter world, museum you can eve do a university degree in Harry Potter! There's no need for a remake in this field because it's massively being used. 

7) Gravity (2013)

Personally, I think Hollywood was trying to see if a two people film can sell, they were trying to be risky and try it out. Personally, I just found it below standard I didn't hate it or found it fantastic. However, I feel if they did a remake of this film I can't see why again. What would be the reason? I mean, Gravity is good if you like Sandra Bullock or/and George Clooney. Personally, I found it boring because it was purely a drama film, there was a little suspense but nothing major. Nothing surprising. It was simple, and I believe visually it got a good write up and acting performance was solid. However, the down fall was nothing major was happening in the film. Is this the way Hollywood films are going? But, when we think of Gravity we don't go over the moon for it! So, why should it become a remake?

8) Little Nicky (2000)

Personally, this is one of my favourite Adam Sandler films of all time 'Little Nicky'. Basically, he plays the son of the Devil and more, you have talking dogs, a mad priest, the devil, angels and even Ozzy Ozbourne. But, personally, it won't work for a remake. Adam Sandler created the character and no one can match that right level of comedy and realism that he portrayed. Then, there's the whole comedy factor, comedy is constantly changing around us....One day, this joke could be hilarious then the next day could be dried up. Comedy is hard, but when we think of Little Nicky it has those elements that is overally funny, but it really went into religion in some parts that wouldn't be noticeable to us but for religion goers it could be. There was talk on a sequel but it never happened even thou it was a smash hit on the box office. But, again the certificate ratings have changed and there was a lot of material in this film that wouldn't even hit the big screen now because looking back on films in general there's a lot of films that have lost a lot of themes that could be classed as too 'gross', too 'violent' and too 'intense'.

9) Norbit (2007)

If this ever ever gets remade I will literally laugh and think "Really?". This is one of the worst Eddie Murphy films ever created. It was bad on the big screen and even worse in the £1 bins you'll find in ASDA or Tesco. I think what killed it off was the fact that this film brought a lot of racial issues involved and used race a lot when it's not at all needed. 2007, was quite a turn away from the race factor if you look at films in the 70s and 80s you'll see the stereotypes used in those films. But, Norbit was one of the main films that stereotyped certain people and it was a huge risk to use because not many people would understand the comedy because it was only certificated 12A which for the language, violence and over slap-stick 'comedy' I was quite shocked at this rating. If this does get a remake, I will not watch it because it's a waste of money, end off. 

10) Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

This will never be remade for a couple of reasons, this is Robin Williams film and since of his late departure from us I can't bring myself to watch anything with Robin Williams not even Aladdin. However, I feel he had the comedy ability to pull it off. Yes, Eddie Murphy pulled Nutty Professor off and played numerous characters. However, Robin Williams portrayed Mrs. Doubtfire in a completely different way to Eddie Murphy. When, Robin Williams played Mrs. Doubtfire you don't see Robin Williams playing Mrs. Doubtfire, Robin Williams is Mrs. Doubtfire. Mrs. Doubtfire is Robin Williams character and if this does remake they are an imposter. Am sorry am using quite strong defensive words, but Robin Williams made such a huge impact in the 90s not only for Mrs. Doubtfire but this is truly a childhood film that should never be touched for Hollywood creators. Plus, I feel the film won't work as much now because of the shift of comedy from Mrs. Doubtfire to Family Guy. 

Is There Anything Wrong With Remakes?

No, am not a person that will say "Remakes are wrong". Because, honestly some remakes turn out ot be better than the actual original film. For example. the picture above I agree with some of the films in that picture. Carrie, Carrie (1976) was a decent horror film however Carrie (2013) was such better not only for the acting ability, but the blood was more real, the character Carrie was more dark and mysterious which I found interesting. Not only horror remakes been brilliant, some were bad like Nightmare on Elm Street. But, dramas like The Taking of Pelham 1,2,3 (1974) and (2009) this was a stunning remake because you had Denzel Washington and John Travolta and the level of drama and suspense was spot on. Finally, from dramas to horror we have to end on a musicals.....Some musical remakes have been stunning from Hairspray with Zac Efron, Amanda Bynes, Queen Latifah, John Travolta and Nikki Blonsky the dancing and singing was stunning and it felt like a remake done right at the end. And, finally a fantastic musical remake is Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd.....Yes, there's been a couple of remakes of this film the opera version with Angela Lansbury, the drama with Ray Winstone playing Sweeney Todd but Johnny Depp playing Sweeney Todd has to the killer that wins the best remake of this film. 

So, What's The Bottom Line?

Let's end with a simple bang, yes remakes will be happening don't know when or where but in the future. You can either say "ooo don't want to see it" or you can give it ago and make you're mind up. Just remember, sometimes it's not the actors fault when remakes occur. It could be the script writers, how the film is being recorded or it just couldn't be you're cup of tea. Bottom line? Give some remakes a chance but sometimes you have to hate film makers that do certain remakes and that's the bottom line.

What's The Bottom Line with The Stage Production of The Circus of Horrors?

The Circus of Horrors: The Night of the Zombies

Introduction

Welcome to That's The Bottom Line and this blog is proud to introduce The Circus of Horrors! Now, what is the Circus of Horrors? Well, the show got into the finals of Britain's Got Talent & now is a West End smash hit! The last few of years has seen the profile of The Circus of Horrors jump tremendously after rampaging into the finals of Britain's Got Talent & to this date it is still the only circus ever to reach the finals. Last year saw another giant leap for the show when it began a series of dates in London’s West End, becoming the first circus to appear in a West End Theatre for 100 years. This latest series from The Circus of Horrors called 'The Night of the Zombie' is set in 2020. A decrepit corpse ridden London, plagued by Zombies, a city ruled by the undead and climaxing in an awesome flaming apocalypse. So, let's start with the first expectations!

 

First Expectations

Considering I did lots of circus research at university, mainly you're character clowns and freakshows, this isn't one I researched into. My first expectations was that it will be serious, horrifying and gruesome because it's the Circus of Horrors. But, as the show started I knew I was all wrong....True, you had you're sword swallowers, knife throwers, daredevil balancing acts, astounding aerial performers and acrobats, a demon dwarf, a Guinness World Record holding ‘hairculian’ hair hanging beauty, Sinister Sisters, gyrating & fire limboing acrobats. However, their was a sense of comedy in the show that truly brought some unusual balances to the show. From comedy to hypnotic performances it truly gave a wow factor and a visual performance to remember with the air of rock 'n' roll.

What Was In The Show?

Apart from what I mentioned before, there were characters which you saw before the show which I found interesting because already you're part of the circus. To me, a circus is never set it could be in the streets, on the roads even at you're houses. It truly brought the wonder before the show actually began. You had a fantastic ring master called Dr. Haze and The Interceptors from Hell which truly made you feel you are watching THE Circus of Horrors. The energy from both Dr. Haze and The Interceptors from Hell were truly ones to watch and be entertained by. To sum up, they both had the very essence of sexual desires and rock 'n' roll with a bit of madness and sanity thrown in their. Comedy wise, you had Camp Dracula yes the pun was intended and the demonic dwarf. Just picture that, Dracula (being camp) and a demonic dwarf.....What's funny their? Well, if you didn't get a chuckle something is up already! If Camp Dracula and the Demonic Dwarf was not in the show, the show would be lacking that humanity that we can all relate to which is comedy! There were voodoo warriors doing acrobatics and tribal dancing which was interesting giving the Circus of Horrors quite a range of skills and then glowing skeletons and tricks and twists to keep the audience entertained. 

What Did The Circus of Horrors Do Differently Then Other Circuses?

From a visual perspective, the look and the characters that you expect you get at some circuses. But, what this circus did more of was the comedy value at an adult level but teens would find funny too and having the correct themes. Now, what I mean by themes is that they did rock 'n' roll, the night of the zombie theme and mixed together a nice range of circus skills to create something their own. Plus, I felt they captured bits of everything that you could/might of seen into one performances. The songs, at least two of them everyone should know. The ringmaster, I've seen 'The Greatest Show Ever!" and I have to say that Dr. Haze is a true ringmaster, keeps the audience entertained and pumped up to high level, so what he feels you feel.

What Were The Costumes Like?

Looking at the programme now, it doesn't come close what you expect. The colours are spot on you have your rocky, punky dark soul look. The reds and blacks with that vintage and burlesque look which suited the entire show. I feel the costumes helped the actors become who they are, because you could tell they are characters, but then when the show ended they were still being those characters. So, circus 'folk' as you could say stay in character until they are behind close doors. Personally, the look of every character there was a purpose behind that creation...for example, Dr. Haze has a funky groovy hat because that's his personality, he's loud, he's electric, he's powerful and absurd. The look of everyone had a somewhat hypnotic effect to draw you in and that air of realism. 

Could There Be Improvements?

I know what you see is what you get, but not in this case. I know looking at other pictures they had more acts. However, my only critism for the actual show is one of the female characters just continuously moved her hips left to right and had knives thrown at her. But, then again not everyone can be centre stage. I noticed, when someone was interrupting part of the act, she told him to be quiet her characters way. What I mean, very sexually and slowly put her finger to her lip and "shush" him which he did. A circus is like route 66, open road with turns and shakes where ever you look, but distracting that one person could ruin everything. I love the human interaction they did with one of the members of the audience, however at the end their was a puppet reference that most YouTube watches would know. And, it was a pity that we didn't see more puppetry because puppets is a form of 'magic' because no one really knows how puppets move their mouths and speak.....Well, back in the black magic era. Now, we know it's the ventriloquist/puppeteer. But, I would of loved to see a demonic puppeteer, maybe a demonic clown or zombie clown. But, The Circus of Horrors shown us one thing; you don't need to wear white make up to show some comedy. However, besides the show the 'theatre' (The Civic Hall) needs to sort some changes. From, stopping flash photography, don't advice a 'tea party' at a horror show and personally better sound system because the music blasted in parts then went quiet. Besides the theatre needed a update, the Circus itself was awe inspiring, visually stunning and just simply amazing. 

So, What's The Bottom Line?

If you love Repo: The Genetic Opera, Rocky Horror Picture Show or just want to see something different I would highly recommend this to anyone that's into the dark and unusual. Bottom line? I didn't see them on Britain's Got Talent but I wish I did, they are truly one to watch.....So? Watch it!

What's The Bottom Line with Emma Lydia's Fashion Photography?

Introduction

Emma Lydia is someone you should look out for in the near future, as you'll see below she is very professional with her photography and if you've read my blogs before I have done a number of models and photographers. However, what I am about to say will point out Emma Lydia has something no one I've written about yet has.

Portfolio

The portfolio will have a range of photographs that have been shot by Emma Lydia Fashion Photography. But, below will also have the hair, stylist, creative direction and model just to give it the feel of more professional but what you see is more than what you get.

 First glances you'll probably see a random girl in the club right? Well, look again. I see someone with fashion and taste. There is a saying that throughout our lives we go through phases of fashions until something sticks. This photograph and model Ella-Georgia Storey Jackson has something that's a true taste of flavour to an image, a certain class. Her eyes off course are dark and mysterious, the environment as well compliments the outfit which is something most photographers forget. Environment needs to be a good balance for it to be a successful photograph. If it's all linking and flowing, the image should be understandable. Plus, the model is quite dominate in the picture which I mean she casts this persona of charisma, beauty and hypnotic effect which is from her and the environment I personally think.

Now, to a completely different picture with Emma Lydia Fashion Photograph which I think has more class and satisfaction in. I like the black and white effect, the whites and blacks work well together to give that transparent look. The fashion again, can't complain, it's suitable but the environment again speaks volumes which makes us want to think. Debating on the picture and where it's set, my own understanding of the picture is a working girl in a uptown high energetic environment. A working girl with a dark future and past, some people miss the look, the model in this picture as before (Ella-Georgia Storey Jackson) has created a similar dominate character but in a working class environment. Which makes us think so many kinds of situations, that beauty is hard work, fashion in the working environment is challenging. All these different answers astonishing and yet exciting to experience because it's sort of connectible and then unknown.

 I can't even say anything negative about this picture. Emma Schofield e.g. Emma Lydia truly portrays contemporary with a modern taste of fashion and art. This picture whom the model Laura Brown whom I've met before portraits something truly incredible. The watery effect of gold with the black make up and outfit says to us.....Well, that's the thing what does it say to us? To me, it speaks out Gold literal gold of wealth, power and control can create something dark, black and cursed which in this case is beauty. This doesn't for me portrait dominance, but it portraits desires. Which could be a challenge if you're unknown of the colour contrast and how as a photographer and model how you are portraying this to the public.

This next one threw me completely, which is rare in photography. Same model, completely different approach why? The reason it threw me was because most photographers will stick to what they know best. However, as you've seen already Emma Lydia likes to challenge herself with the contemporary, unusual, strange materials and portrait herself as not just a one photographer mind but open minded. This to me, speaks out innocence, wishes, sacred and even purity. This really makes me think, because we see one above this and then this image and it's two completely different concepts which are just brilliant to see as a visual person. I sense tension, goals, and angles in this picture where a story could be told. The colours could be simple, white mostly in the image but we see the models emotions more through this. Which let's be honest, a model and photographer's relationship does matter I think because for two people to understand each other could bring out the best. So, therefore Laura Brown and Emma Lydia truly play off one another to  bring us remarkable material. 

What Brought Me To Emma Lydia's Work?

Passion, contemporary, strange, unusual and more importantly independently different. Now, what I mean by independent differently is that Emma Lydia thought of what she wanted, how she wanted and what kind of fashion the photograph would be. Some photographers decide on the day some decide weeks in advance for costumes, story ideas etc. But, what brought me the most to Emma Lydia's work is simple.....herself. I feel we get a taste of Emma Lydia's passion in every single photograph we've seen so far. Emma wrote on her Facebook page 

"I am young dynamic photographer. I don't work - I do what I love.". 

So we already know that Emma Lydia is a young, dynamic photographer. She doesn't do this as a work paid job, Emma Lydia is similar to me because we both do something that we love. I love blogging, she loves photographer. So, this brings me to that question of what brought me to Emma Lydia's work?!?! Simple, passion for the arts in either simple or complex forms which she can portray, which I've seen experienced photographers of years of experience fail at. So, Emma Lydia could make this a paid job on the side. Personally, a shout out to Emma Lydia once you get a portfolio make sure you know you're goals afterwards. Because, this could be you're paid job it's edgy, creative and spontaneous.  

What Does Emma Lydia Do Differently?

I feel it's the characters Emma Lydia puts in the photographers with so much ease that their's a hidden character between the photograph. For example, Laura Brown's photographers the two pictures I presented to you are completely differently. Therefore, Emma Lydia understands that to get those characters, those themes and off course that fashionable look she needs to have a clear understanding of the photo shoot. So, really Emma Lydia even thou she says she is young, she clearly understands what is, what there is and what is possible through a camera and I think that what makes her different compared to other photographers.

So, What's The Bottom Line?

What's The Bottom Line with Hayley Armstrong Make Up Artist?!?

Introduction

Hayley Armstrong's artwork is something to take into interest, Hayley can perform simple to complicated pieces of make up artwork and yet giving that edge to create a 'character'. What I mean by character, is that the make up suits, you probably thinking an actor doesn't wear make up? But, The Joker to Ant and Dec they wear make up. But, Hayley Armstrong processes something very interesting which has caught That's The Bottom Line's attention which is the level of detail, care and consideration into the make up itself really shows us who is Hayley Armstrong. But, who is she? She is situated in Manchester so if you are in the area look her up because what's next is showing you her portfolio. So, get ready, keep an open mind and experience what a brush of a simple make up can do for you.

 Now, on you're left if you're unaware of what this is or what it's suppose to be. It's a simple day of the dead which happens on Halloween, a holiday that was originated from Mexico city where they believe that Halloween is more celebrating of the Dead. But, Hayley Armstrong understood what exactly is the Day of the Dead make up. I've seen make up designs which were just complicatedly off colour, off designed and wasn't fully day of the dead. Hayley's creation here shows us beauty even when dead, and shows us with some simple design work you can truly rock the dead. If you can't see the simple love hearts, spider on the forehead and the designs around the eye truly portrays a day of the dead spectacular. So, just from one design already we seen Hayley Armstrong grasp what most artist forget......research, detail and creativity. 

Personally, I love this piece of art work and before I go on. I keep saying artwork, because from tattoos, photography, hair colour, hair style, make up is a form of art because you're portraying yourself as not just a blank piece of canvas. So, let's see what Hayley has created here. A simple black eye with purple tone around to create that absence of continue abuse, the lashes of the right and forehead to show the real scarring and abuse you get in certain situations. BUT, here's when Hayler just rocked that character out is having that gorgeous lipstick on......Doesn't do much?! It just shows the very idea of that bruising and violence can even be in the most beautifully portrait of beauty. Plus, the skin tone works well within the image to portray that ere of darkness and yet that attraction of lipstick shows the more beauty side of the character.

Now, this image interested me the most because this is one reason which I'll address later why I think Hayley Armstrong has an act for make up design. This is very experimental and yet it works in some strange alien way. The top layer of that orange and black spots shows a more suttle and yet prickle side and with that deep ocean blue like you find in Finding Nemo truly draws out the colours. But, the image above even thou to me it seems like a cheetah crossed with a dolphin, it's something creative and not oddly designed. But, it's very eye catching in a good way for people to witness and process in to think about. I strongly believe colours have meanings, therefore what does this make up speak to you?

Furthermore, the image above is my favourite, not in any doubts this is the one I passionately fall for why? Basically, the edgy of the black against the pink to me shows the passionate of a true independent woman, with that soft pink surrounding the eye and then contrasting the pink lip stick shows the beauty and yet darkness that women in day to day lives have to deal with. The skin tone really amplifies the identity of the character and the level of detail into the eyebrows, colour tone and the fact no smudges which is a bonus is just delicate. Personally, never thought of black and pink until I looked into fashion history where pink shows that stereotypical girly girl but then the black shows that outrageous behaviour of women in the 60s. So, Hayley truly understands what works, which for any artist is an accomplishment.  

 Being a DC Heroes fan I won't say much about this image. It's a portrait of Catwoman from the Batman series. However, Hayley has shifted what the public think Catwoman loks like and given it a form of Tim Burton style I would say. You can see the curves like a cat's fur, the level of black shows the hidden soul that cats have because they were vision as Gods at one point. But, again beauty, simple and the eyes bring out who is behind the mask but the level of detail into the eyes area is stupendous. 

Before I go on, Hayley Armstrong's artwork is generally dark from what I've seen but she has done weddings as well. So, I feel with Hayley's art designs that she is expressing her true emotions not saying she's a murderer! But, the whole concept of dark material has a some what interest in her life. I don't really know Hayley Armstrong as I've done my past artists but the vibe I personally get from her artwork speaks this to me. Now, this image I do enjoy because it reminds me of Two Face from Batman and a Corpse Bride. The sharpness on the lips, the green and purple making it look mutated it just screams out to you, that this is a character not to mess with. It's like beauty and the beast all in one. You have one side that is pure beauty to be hold and then on the right pure disgust like The Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. 

This is the final image of the blog I'll be commenting. However, this is the one to really pay attention too. Hayley Armstrong isn't just a make up designer. She's a visionary of creative juices. From the images above they are quite dark not the whole pretty pretty girly look which is an edge in Hayley's portfolio. I saw the pretty and thought there's loads like that but to have that creativeness and below you'll see experimental flow is something people should be looking for. Who wants to look exactly the same all the time?!?! We all be boring, the image below shows the beauty of Hayley Armstrong with accessories, simple make up and it draws attention to detail as into why Hayley Armstrong is a fantastic make up artist. Why you ask? Well, find out in the next section.

What Draws Us To Hayley Armstrong's Work?

In a nutshell, creative and experimental like Lady Gaga but the fashion, sensibility and colourful visionary of a fashion company. Hayley Armstrong attracted me to her work through the different styles, brands, characters, ideas and generally her ideas are fantastic for all occasions. As I said, she isn't just doing pretty faces, she can do it, but she has challenged herself to be more creative to break the boundaries of what she 'should' do. But, more of the lines of what she can achieve, she seems to set goals, break them and then make new ones. This is something I've noticed, when you do something again, and again and again it gets dry very quick. But, Hayley Armstrongs portfolio shows us the whole different side that she is a 'fresh' artist. Meaning, she's doing something new to keep the audience interested and that's what stands Hayley Armstrong out and that's what draws us to her.

The bottom line is this people, if you ever wanted to feel and express colour and unknown how to through you're face.
